EEEE TY FOR THE INTEREST!! i call the AU "Wildbane" and it's pretty much just my take on the whole 'beta' thing! that design of Hunter was my initial attempt at him in that world i havent got much bc im saving lore for ao3 stuff im chipping away at currently BUT some fun keynotes relating to hunter to ponder:

much much more robotic and drone-like than in canon

"hunter" is not a name. he technically has no name, and is just referred to as "hunter" the way you might refer to your doctor as "doctor" yknow

that bit about burying himself in Eclipse Lake was not a half-hearted thing no he genuinely tried the whole grave thing

actually a bit scary he's kinda like the t-1000 at times

huntlow establishes earlier!

is regularly 'controlled' by Belos, not a new thing

part of the creation of the grimwalkers was to find ways to synthesize specific types of magic! each one had an approximation of a certain track's magic, but nothing to the full extent. hunter has something vaguely like Oracle magic, which gives him precognition (see Heimdall from GOW:R) and the occasional glimpse throughout time! part of what makes Hunter turn away from the Emperor's Coven is he sometimes sees his future with the hexsquad :)

the ear notch was actually caused by Luz during the events of hunting palisman! albeit on accident. notice that the notch is precisely where one of his golden piercings would sit (yeowch)

the big right-side scar on his face was already there before Thanks To Them

his 'masked confidence' is inverted! when he's the Golden Guard and working under Belos, he is timid and not very talkative and very work-focused. when he loses the title and becomes his own person, he starts to liven up

belos' goopiness and condition is way worse, so sometimes hunter has to act as a proxy emperor in belos' place! attached is a sketch of what he might look like when acting in belos' place
