instead  of  meeting  at  their  usual  spot,  vada  decided  to  swing  by  kara’s  place  so  they  could  get  ready  together  this  time.  it  would  just  be  two  of  them  tonight,  after  all  —  the  boys  had  cancelled  last  minute  for  whatever  reason.  the  sudden  knock  catches  her  off  guard,  but  vada  doesn’t  think  much  of  it  at  first.  "  someone's  at  your  door!  who  else  you  got  coming  over,  babe?  "  she  calls  out  to  kara,  already  heading  over  to  open  it,  only  to  find  august  standing  outside.  what  are  the  fucking  odds?  "  well,  fuck  me.  what  the  fuck  are  you  doing  here?  "  for  a  moment,  she  forgets  she’s  not  at  home,  but  at  kara’s  place.

the  burger  he's  currently  chowing  down  is  absolutely  delectable,  eyes  closing  as  he  finishes  his  bite  and  washes  it  down  with  his  coke,  wondering  how  august  manages  to  do  it  time  and  time  again.  “YOU  WERE  BORN  FOR  THIS  LINE  COOK  SHIT,”  he  compliments,  entirely  genuine.  “this  burger  slaps.  if  i  have  to  eat  one  of  my  chicken  and  rice  bowls  for  dinner  one  more  time,  i  might  have  lost  it.  you  saved  me,  man.”

millie  had  never  really  liked  being  in  old  lucky  streak,  but  the  feeling  of  fear  she  felt  every  time  she  entered  the  building  was  always  grounding.  it  doesn't  take  long  to  find  star  in  the  abandoned  building,  and  she  shakes  her  hands  as  if  it  would  shake  whatever  she  was  feeling  away.  “hi  …”  she  says,  small  smile.  “THANKS  FOR  COMING.”

it  shouldn’t  be  a  surprise  to  see  frankie  show  up  at  the  thrift  store  —  they  have  been  working  together  for  years  after  all  ,  and  yet  this  time  it  almost  feels  like  a  fever  dream.  still  ,  her  features  light  up  with  a  grin  ,  as  welcoming  as  ever.  "  frankie  babe  ,  where  the  hell  have  you  been  ,  loca  ?  "  vada  walks  up  to  her  friend  and  pulls  her  into  a  hug  ,  squeezing  her  with  exaggerated  enthusiasm  before  letting  go.  oh  ,  to  have  her  work  bestie  back  in  her  life  !  "  can’t  believe  you  were  lois  &  found  ,  right  here  where  you  belong.  me  and  lois  missed  you  very  much.  "

theodora  had  always  loved  the  ending  of  one  year  and  the  beginning  of  the  next.  never  in  her  life  had  she  been  a  planner,  but  the  new  year  presented  the  opportunity  to  LOOK  AT  THE  BIGGER  PICTURE.  ever  since  she  moved  to  cider  point,  she'd  attended  the  annual  ball  drop.  what  better  way  to  start  the  night  than  with  her  girls  ?  usually  nesrin  is  placed  in  the  middle  (  it  makes  sense  seeing  how  she's  the  smallest  ),  but  tonight  theodora  had  made  it  her  rightful  spot,  her  arms  linked  with  theirs.  “okay,  i  won't  force  you  ladies  to  be  with  me  at  midnight  …  but  i'm  formally  requesting  a  1am  debrief  of  your  nights  !!”

Alessia and Dennie had just pranked another person. They'd taken a picture of someone dressed like a vampire and set it as Dennie's background before asking said vampire to take a picture of them. She was still laughing at the reaction from afar when she'd bumped into someone. "My bad." She spoke through a fit of giggles.
