We need piles of unread books on our shelves because sometimes one of them has been sitting there for years but one day it suddenly CALLS you and it’s exactly what you were in the mood for and omg yES, I knew it would come in handy someday.
“Did I...did I even mean anything to you?”
“You meant everything to me.”
Gothel’s Backstory: A Conspiracy Theory
Gothell was once married to a man who she loved very much and thought loved her back. He met her when she was beautiful, radiant—at the prime of her youth. They built beautiful memories together, despite his resistance to having children. Gothell accepted this because she loved him and wanted what was in his best interest. Her mother never liked him, warned her of his intentions.
“You won’t look that way forever,” she said.
Gothel ignored her. She said it was true love.
Fast forward a couple decades and her beauty starts to fade, externally at least. Disenchanted and no longer pleased, her husband leaves, telling her that he has nothing to stay for anymore. The moment her beauty left, so did he.
And so she made it her mission to reverse time and return to that prime. If she looked that way forever, maybe she could prove him wrong, prove her mother wrong.
It was after he left that she realised despite their turbulent relationship and how she seemed to be playing for the enemy’s side all the time, her mother was right. Mother really did know best.
And that’s why she doesn’t trust Flynn, was so insecure about her appearance and so quick to shut Rapunzel away. Rapunzel reminded her of the women she once was, but less afraid.
You know when you read a book that’s been on your TBR for ages and it becomes one of your new faves and you’re just thinking wow wtf, and you’ve just been chilling on my shelf the whole time???
It is a fact well-known by every British person, that a teacher cannot display any greater deal of disgust than that portrayed by the sentence,
“That’s the American spelling.”
Beige rhymes with age which doesn’t rhyme with montage which doesn’t rhyme with rampage but rhymes with corsage
I’ve reached this point in life where I really don’t care what people have to say about me I know who I am and that’s all that’s important. I’m still learning to stop letting people tread all over me I’m still working on acknowledging that I am worth something So if you wanna switch on me, that’s fine I’m gonna keep doing me, regardless So go ahead: Leave. It’s less stress on my part anyway.
I’m used to it
