This is in regards to my last post :)
literally just me ranting about headcsnons and stuff for Naruto Clans. anyways i’m going to tag some people who either might be interested in this, or definitely had a part in making this come together in my head: @adhd-sakura @actuallyautisticsasuke @kalira @keanblade @dragonpyre @sloaners @kksday
Starting off: every clan is effectively a separate “country”. they each have different beliefs, holidays, patron gods, traditions, and understandings of life. by the founding of konohagakure over 800 years have passed since the Rokudo Sennin died and his kids started fighting, meaning that the fire country clans are separate, but regularly interact, which is why there are similarities between clan cultures, but nothing is exactly the same.
playing off of keanblade’s “red eyes are blessed” au, the Uchiha have the Patron Goddesses Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi. however, in addition to red, orange and yellow eyes are also hailed as marks of the Goddess Amaterasu’s blessed. Tsukuyomi has her own blessed markings as well: lavender, silver, or white hair. they are known as the RedEyed and the MoonBorne. Albino folk are seen as blessed by both Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu. further more there are the StarSkinned, people who have galaxies (colourful and vivid in the view of the Sharingan) painted on their skin, and who are said to be made of stars; they are people with vitiligo. they celebrate the summer solstice with a midnight bonfire in the clan compound square, hold fire in their hands like a candlelight vigil without wax as they cremate their dead, hold passion and family-friends-parter-love very very dearly.
all Hatake are wanderers and the clan itself is nomadic; they live in Enclaves of family-friends-parters-children-parents-cousins, and don’t care for blood as much as they care for kin. their Patron Goddess is Asami, ruler of spring, flowers, plants, creatures, life, love, joy; she rides upon her companion, an elk made of storm, rain, lightning, water, rage, fury, protective might, thunder hooves. they celebrate the first snow fall, the spring cherry blossoms, the joining of new kin. Asami’s blessed are shown with pale-stone-shade hair in white, silver, red, grey, brown, blond; albino folk are common among them. there are five hatake clades, separated not by blood but by summons species, with their guardians taking different forms, and each bearing different names: Ōtori, Fūgawa, Hebida, Wagara, Yoroki.
the uzumaki live on their island, with roads made of water and houses of coaxed coral growths, seals in their brains and tenacity in their blood. with their Patron Gods Raijin and Ōwatatsumi, they embody the storms and tides and the raging seas and howling winds of the oceans they inhabit, strong, stubborn, feirce, and deadly. red, white, and black hair, as well as red, purple, and blue eyes are very common among the major uzumaki families; additionally, ink, seals, tattoos, piercings, and ornimental jewelry play a large role in their culture as ways of marking milestones of personal growth and major life events. the uzumaki have a similar system as the hatake, marking people with different names not for blood relation, but for individual abilities. those like the Umino, Inka, Karatachi, and Hozuki would be native to Uzushio, clans that make up the greater concept of “The Uzumaki”, with family abilities like exploding seafoam bubbles (Umino Utakata), chakra-ink beasts drawn onto scrolls and brought to life (Inka Sai), the ability to coax corals to grow and flourish (Karatachi Yagura), or to see and breath better underwater than above it (Hozuki).
the Senju are more strict than other clans, more controlled abd wary, often seeing the larger picture rather than the smaller details. they find an ideal and are able to dedicate themselves to it in their entirity, living, breathing, and fighting for that goal with a single-minded and stubborn purpose and in this they can often lose sight of the people around them.
these ideas are the begginingbasis to what i’m starting to develop from a vague concept i had in my head weeks ago that started simply with “why do summons speak the same language as the humans in the elemental nations” which devolved into “i’m making an entirely new language for the summons” and then “what if there was a clan so close to their summons that they could understand and use Soul Speak?” it was mire than a rabbit hole. i fell into the fucking void.
what is a hatake?
i’ll try to explain this as easily as i can: the hatake (in WILDR) are not a bloodline, family, coalition, or anything; there is no real term that i’ve come across that encapsulates how i see them, how they operate, who they are, and who they are willing to be.
traits of an individual hatake:
an innate connection with nature, knowing when there is danger around, prefering to be away from large crowds.
a connection with their own insticts, understanding and acknowledging them, but still able to think mostly rationally.
makes connections to others quickly, and feels strongly about others, even if that is not mutual.
willingness to act for the benefit of their loved ones, even if it might harm themself or other bystanders.
bullheaded stubbornness, an unyeilding will to do as they will, regardless of social or societal norms.
unwillingness to be ordered to act by someone who has not earned their respect, or to be forced to act by anyone.
unsettled or disturbed by uniformity and lack of individual personality.
i don’t know what else i can say.
[john mulaney voice] so, i don’t know if you’ve been reading my mind, but my recent hyperfixation has had me rebuilding Naruto canon from the ground up all the time.
i literally can’t stop, i have a google doc thats near 5k words and im only nearing the end of transcribing Hatake Clan lore.
blackcat, keanblade, and kalira are fueling my headcanons and i keep making everything gay. everyone is either neurodivergent or physically diabled or queer or all three and its most self indulgent thing i’ve ever made and i want to scream about it all the time but i also don’t want to annoy people by screaming about in online even though thats literally what i made this blog for.
i think that @adhd-sakura @actuallyautisticsasuke and maybe some others might like it, but i have no idea and its makin me really nervous to post anything about it, but after this post i think i’ll start typing out a another post about it.
chakra sensing is a rare ability, right?
well i mean, sure, but... there are some families where its more prominent. families that have other senses thar are porentially at risk, far more than others, due to a different genetic trait.
Sharingan and albinism.
the uchiha and hatake clans are very prone to blindness because of their genetic traits or kekkei genkai, and their bodies have adapted to anticipate sensory loss by being very predisposed to chakra sensing.
the hatake often have stronger senors though, as for the uchiha its more of an eventhual inevitability. for many hatake, however, it is a fact of life. being blind so early in life forces them to adapt more completely.
a side effect of having such strong sensing so early in life, is that they become very aware of their natural afinity, becoming dangerously intune with their element.
tobirama becomes very relaxed and open around large bodies of water or during hurricanes, slipping into a deep medatative state when submerged entirely. he collects different water samples from every new place he visits because it “feels different.”
fukurama practically hoards crystals, gemstones, geodes, metals, alloys, and rocks, and very purposefully carved his konoha house into the side of the cliff face. being around the earth makes him feel level-headed and calm, saying that he’s able to think very deeply when burried in the sand.
hashirama is very aware of all the nature that surrounds him daily, and it keeps him in a constant state of loopy-cheer oblivious-forgetfulness. when in his flower garden, he “ascends from our plane of reality!” to everyone else he looks both drunk and high.
WILDR: soulkin
i’ve mentioned soulkin before. a hatake’s soulkin is the animal that they are most similar to when they first perform a successful summoning. they gain the features and traits of their soulkin through mutual chakra transfer, both physical, behavioral, and sensory. those who are adopted into the Enclave as family are allowed to learn this technique as well, and the younger one is when they do the initial summoning, the more soukin-traits are likely to develop. a special ability that i’ve been calling Azurashi Youki is able to occur when soul & soulkin are entirely in sync: the gift of your soulkin’s form, basically an animal transformation that can only be reversed by choice, and can’t be seen through by dōjutsu. note: summons are not the same as contracts

alright, not really much today but i can share some art for Fukurama (the progression from vers.1 to vers.3), but otherwise its more of an update on the tag i’ll be using for this au.
#WILDR is the tag i’m going to be using for the wildr’verse, and i don’t have a reason for the name i just like how it looks and sounds; other name ideas are still welcome.
these are vers.1 & .2, their alright, but i was still trying to solodify what kind of concept i was going for...
...and then there’s vers.3 (& 3.5, added markings detailing, more seal tattoos), and i’m really liking this one better.
the wings aren’t actually attached to his arms; they are made of actual feathers and are used in both ceremonial purposes/celebratory dancing, or battle as a tessen (war fan). he has metal release (equal mix of raiton & dōton), and if he channels metal nature chakra through the seal that goes over most of his torso, it kind of radiates to the feathers on his body (present because of his owl summons chakra sharing) and turns them into metal.
