Today Prof John de Gruchy delivered the address to commemorate the life and work of Revd dr Beyers Naudé at Wilgenhof Mens Residence at Stellenbosch University. Oom Bey was a resident here when he studied theology at Stellenbosch University in the 1930’s. Prof de Gruchy knew oom Bey well and worked with him in the anti apartheid struggle, the Christian Institute and South African Council of Churches. We are very grateful for the work and witness for justice and transformation.
