Shoto Big Bang 2021: Those Who Create
Based on a fic with the same title written by @willowingends on ao3 and tumblr! Summary taken from the fic:
"Shouto Todoroki has always thought of himself as a force of destruction. A fire that eats away at everything despite his best attempts, a frigid cold that creeps across the skin and kills the nerves, the hand-crusher, the peace-destroyer. Nothing he does has ever been an act of creation. But with some help of his school mandated therapist, he's learning he can do more than just ruin things. He can make beautiful art."
Oooh Sea Change?
;Pick one of my WIP titles off this list, and I'll send you a snippet or tell you about it!
Sea Change
This one is a BIIG project, and it’s hard to briefly summarize. The Nein are in Port Damali, spending a day at the beach. Jester walks with Fjord up the beach, hand-in-hand and in almost complete silence, among the arches and cliffs and cobbles and sea caves the tides have carved out of the shore by Port Damali. For a while, he leaves her on the beach alone to go for a dive and a swim.
Mostly, it’s about Jester wrestling with the strange but familiar, things recognizable but unfathomable to her—the shore, the sea, Fjord himself. Things she will never fully understand, but that’s alright.
He stepped forward again. She felt the urge to cry out for him, to lift her hand to grab his shoulder despite the dozens of feet between them. Anything to stop him, as if he was crossing a threshold into some other place. She didn't. Still, he stopped, and he turned as if she did. In the shadow underneath that archway, she couldn't see his face.
I will share your road sounds soooo cool as a title! Tell me about it.
It’s the title of my DND AU, of which I currently have two chapters up.
Here’s a snippet from chapter 3:
“Does that mean we’re in the clear for now?” Tim asked.
“Probably not,” said Martin. “The spell predicted weal and woe if we went this way.”
“It predicted—what?”
“Weal and woe. It’s sort of… the terminology, I guess? For the Augury spell. Weal for good results, woe for bad. Going straight west yielded only woe, but going south yielded both.” Martin paused. “So, we’re not really avoiding the bad, just… balancing it out with some good.”
"Bit vague,” Tim remarked. “The spell doesn’t tell you what kind of good?”
Martin looked embarrassed. “It’s not a very strong spell.”
“Well, you’re a cleric of the god of knowledge,” said Tim. “Couldn’t you just… I don’t know. Ask? Isn’t there a spell for that?”
It was an innocent question, but the look of miserable embarrassment on Martin’s face made him regret asking. “Well, yes,” Martin admitted. “There’s a spell called Divination. But I’m not strong enough to cast it yet.”
“Oh.” Awkwardly, Tim reached over and gave him a cautious pat on the shoulder. “Well, that’s fine. Not like we’ve ever known the future before. I’m sure we’ll figure it out when it comes.”
“Isn’t a weal like a welt?” Sasha asked.
Tim blinked. The dejected look on Martin’s face was swiftly replaced with confusion. “What?”
“A weal,” she repeated. “That’s like an injury, right? When you get smacked so hard the skin looks all raised and swollen? That’s a weal.”
“It—it’s another word for prosperity!” Martin sputtered out.
“Really? Never heard it used like that before.”
“I mean, sure, it’s a little antiquated, but—”
“Just seems like an odd choice. Like whoever wrote the spell down just wanted the alliteration.”
“Words can mean more than one thing!”
Tim stared longingly at the road ahead.
Word for WIP game: Beautiful
This is from a recent Iwaoi wip that I hope to get published in the next few months :D I’m really excited about this au:’)
The old man nods and turns to Oikawa. “And you, young man? Feebas is an unattractive and unpopular pokemon. Are you willing to endure the world’s judgement on the slim chance you might one day end up with a beautiful milotic?”
Oikawa hesitates for a second. Unattractive and unpopular are ugly words. But he nods. “I never back down from a challenge. Whatever people say, I will prove them wrong.”
Thanks for the ask!!
