Windy Rewatch: 1x01
I'm still amazed at how they can fit so much story into one episode.
There are so many things that Hit Different after having seen every episode and knowing everything we know now, even beyond Tom and Abby's interactions.
Everything between Liam and Abby. Knowing that they weren't married for that long before packing up their lives and moving out West. Wondering if the scandal from Liam's last case was caused by the Davidsons. Knowing that Liam was keeping a major secret from Abby.
Witnessing Liam's death after knowing the whole story
The fact that Abby introduces herself as Abigail to Calian, a person she has no real reason to keep secrets from.
Hoyt's reaction to Salty Dog betting the gun from the Alamo. I mean we already knew he lost his father in that war before we got to that episode but still :(
Abby and Tom meeting for the first time. Abby being thrown completely off kilter because she's seen him before and Tom being cool as a cucumber. He KNOWS who she is! And has evil intentions with that information! Just thinking about the roller coaster that's coming for these to is just *chef's kiss*
Everything about Lucia and Hoyt and feeling cheated by the writers because they keep driving them apart :(
The way Kai says "sometimes you just know when you need a fresh start"
And they way he's so eagerly nice to her! He's so polite and kind, without any gain for him. He just sees another wayward soul and he wants to HELP.
Kate! Is! Not! Subtle!
For real though Kate and Abby's interactions in this episode are so interesting because Kate is obviously probing for information and Abby recognizes that and calls her out on it. And they don't know each other and they don't trust each other but they fall into comfortable banter so quickly like!!! Game recognizes Game indeed.
Hagan throwing Tom a huge party despite disliking him and his aunt for trying to run him out of his own business. "I threw you a party get the fuck off my back now please"
Abby came so close to getting carted off to an asylum in this episode. Idc if there was a party going on. Someone had to have seen her pointing her gun right at the new sheriff. Thank goodness Hoyt stepped in when he did.
Calian going out of his way to help Abby despite the risk to him makes so much more sense now that we know why. He believes Nascha led him to her, that he needed to help her. Just- I love them your honor
There's a million other details I could gush about but these are the ones that stick out to me.
