A not so little thing that Arteta doesn’t get enough credit for: his man management. I’ve been following Trossard for years and something I’ve noticed about his time at Arsenal is the way he plays after he’s been benched for a spell. He comes out with a huge chip on his shoulder, which is a trait any winner has, then he goes on an incredibly productive run to remind everyone why he should be starting. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that he hasn’t been starting recently and now that they’re in the final push, Arteta decides to start him. He’s got an assist already and I won’t be surprised if he gets a goal. That’s why you keep a good coach/manager for the long-term; those are the little things someone new might not pick up on soon enough to exploit. 🧐

This shows how committed Chelsea was on the defensive end of the match. Each time, Chelsea aimed to avoid a second attempt at goal. As a coach and as a keeper you are happy to see that. This is the behaviour of players who have each other’s backs.
