Rewatching Secret of the Lost Kingdom and Magical Adventure one after the other had me realize how both movies could have really been one, since half of both are stretched with filler and miscommunication between Bloom and Sky.

The first half of the movie could have been about Mandragora manipulating the Winx into helping her free the Ancestral Witches, while the girls try to uncover how Domino was cursed and how Erendor was included in that. Around three thirds through they would free both Domino from its curse, which would unlock Blooms full Enchantix, and the Witches from Obsidian. Then, the Trix would be freed by the Ancestral Witches from... wherever they were imprisoned after season three. The Ancestrals would then lead them to destroying all of light magic through the Tree of Life. But ultimately the Winx, Specialists, Oritel and Erendor would stop them.

I was just working on my headcanons around Lucy and her coven. One of her coven members is Shelly. I am also watching Season 4 and yeah...

Shilly, girl, why are you on Earth pretending to be a girl named Sally and are friends with Mitzi?

She still isn't over Brandon.

Darma is also a secret witch.

I know, Winx recycles some character models but why not one from the Hallowinx Episode? You know where we actually meet friends of Mitzi?

50 is an exaggeration, but I know for a FACT I've watched it all the way through more than 10 times

Listen, the breakup itself is very well done. If you ignore the fact that the moment Riven feels like he can talk his heart out is, at first, the moment when Musa cannot respond with her own voice. Which is A Choice. Other than that, though, his whole speech is quite well executed and fits the character well enough.

It's also very nice to see them promise to keep in touch (although s8 informs us that that never happened and Musa is understandably pissed because of that), I find it pretty mature and reasonable for someone who has been together for that long and through so much heavy stuff.

The problem is the rest of the season prior to that. Musa spends all the time being sad or angry about Riven ignoring her, and Riven does in fact ignore her. In the stupidest ways ever. S3 Riven would NEVER. Sotlk Riven would N E V E R. S4 Riven would rather kiss Jason Queen than straight up ignore Musa like that. His obsession with training and proving himself is poorly executed if not caricatural, it makes him extremely flat and annoying. Not to mention that in the Ice Queen episodes Riven apologizes to Flora, while for the whole season he never once apologizes to Musa for being insufferable.

It was a boring and two-dimensional build up to one of the very few moments in the nick seasons that made a relationship actually feel emotional.

one thing that bothered me slightly when watching winx is in s1e1 when bloom first goes to alfea, the beginning of the episode makes it seem like she JUST started her summer break. so does the fall term at alfea start incredibly early or??
