I recently rewatched your King Candy/Turbo video for millionth time and I was wondering what you meant by Cybug Candy (I no idea really what to call him since it differs depending on the person in the fandom) being trans-coded? It was certainly a stretch to propose such an idea without elaborating but it has given me a lot of insight on how different folks react to interpretations like that without reason (MASSIVELY different responses, some get very pissed off or very happy about it or just confused)

First of all I'm genderqueer so a lot of it is just ??? The Vibes. But to put it briefly in my rambly opinion at least (subject to change as i research more ): its the Body euphoria, bodily transformation, Insect transformation (inhuman/already sort of agender/nonconventional to mammalian sex roles), robot transformation (agender asf), murderous robot transformation, King candy is already queer coded and has femme aspects in his persona and design --> Transcending humanity by transforming into a monster also includes transforming beyond the gender stereotypes of humanity. He is now his own Fucking Unauthorized thing. On that note I think all transformations (ex werewolves) are also inherently trans in a way, like you could have an awakening or fascination connected to it if you also felt like you didn't belong in your own body. (Werewolves are an interesting mix of body dysphoria/euphoria if anything, I'd have to research more)

Your body is changing violently, against your will, but you love the outcome. That's whats fundamentally happening, and that's some eldritch gender identity shit!!!!!!! And although willingly, it seems very analogous to HRT in a way, as there are not many other IRL circumstances like that?? Lots of stuff in fiction/fantasy like body-swapping or gender-swapping would also be a point of fixation pre-transition perhaps

There's also the confounding aspect of villainy that makes it even queerer/gayer/more trans its very. interesting to try to put into words. The fact that he rejects society so much that he has no moral qualms with killing people?? LOL?? Some shit about queercoded villains and the freedom of expression that comes with that. (ignoring the "negative" representation that brings, although I would argue that transness/queerness is a fundamentally neutral thing. Its like how liking chocolate ice cream isn't a judgement of character IDK)

King Candybug is simultaneously freedom and very much NOT FREEDOM because he Dies and the cybug programming takes over his mind etc etc I just think there's a lot to him and it also connects to Why He is Hot. Is that an answer.

I have a confession to make 🥀and it's the fact I haven't watched my Turbo essay all the way through as a finished product ever. Until today actually. Because tbh I have been in the 'oh man perfectionism bullshit brain I can't stand my own voice oh god so many people have seen this' for over a year now until I finally pulled the stick out of my ass and stopped hating myself. It's a fucking amazing video. Oh my god. It's probably the best piece of art I will ever make. I have to make more NOW. Ok well not now but soon. I need to get more than 4 hours of sleep first

Anyways it's strange because all the voice lines I expect to hear are different. Because for hours a day I was editing an alternate version for 7 months and I overhauled the entire first hour of the video in the final month. What I associate with this video the most is actually the WIP and not the actual finished product itself. I forgot my video was this polished and cohesive and all I remember is the awkward mess I was stuck with for the longest time. Oh how the mind distorts things
