American and european bison

The main key to differentiating them in case you meet one is that if you're in America, it's an American bison and if you're in Europe, it's a European bison. Hope this helps

Wooden bison I got at Biebzynski National Park in Poland. I got a damaged one without ears and horns, so I carved, stained, and sealed some myself (unfortunately over the years it suffered a bit of damage)

The European bison came very close to total extinction, but thanks to conservation and rewilding efforts they can again be found across central and western Europe. As far back as the 15th century they were protected from poaching and fed in winter, and as recently as 2022 a wild bison calf was born in the UK for the first time in millennia. ©Wildlife World
