SUSAN!!!! I FINALLY REREAD THE WHOLE SERIES AND I CANT BELIEVE I DIDN’T FIGURE OUT THIS BEFORE AND MAYBE OTHER PEOPLE HAVE AND IM JUST SLOW BUT I HAVE TO KNOW! IN CHAPTER 62 OF BLOODWITCH, AEDUAN WAS SMELLING HIS BLOOD ON ISEULT’S COIN, “BRIGHT AND FRESH AND LACED WITH FIREFLIES.” AND WE KNOW BLOOD SCENTS CAN EVOLVE SO ARE YOU TELLING ME HIS BLOOD SCENT CHANGED BECAUSE OF ISEULT?! IF SO I AM GOING TO CATAPULT INTO OBLIVION.

I’ve refined my previous theory. I have questions regarding who is a paladin because so far we have confirmed: Stix as Lady Baile-Waterwitch, Kullen as Bastien-Airwitch, Owl as Lady Saria-Earthwitch, Corlant is the incarnation of the Voidwitch paladin, who I believe is Midne, and we do not know the Firewitch paladin’s reincarnation but her name was Rhian and I think she’s Midne’s niece going off of Sightwitch. I do not believe there is an Aetherwitch paladin reincarnation, as the Rook King is confirmed to have been the one that betrayed the other 5 although we do not know his reasons for doing so. I do wonder how the Exalted Ones met their end though, it has to have been through the actions of the Rook King somehow, and for some reason they did not reincarnate to our knowledge. I believe this is because they became the origin wells, as the origin wells can be cleaved like witches and they are repeatedly referenced as being alive with power. As to why the Exalted Ones became the origin wells but the 5 got reincarnated I do not know. Bastien also confuses me, he sings an alternate version of Erydisi’s Lament in which five turned on one which was presumably him. Why does he believe that the other members of the Six turned on him instead of focusing his anger towards the betrayal of the Rook King. But maybe the Rook King didn’t betray them, he wasn’t at the last fight with the Exalted Ones but he did deal the killing blow to Lady Baile which means he either was siding with the Exalted Ones which seems unlikely, or he killed them before killing the other paladins. If he did this I’m almost certain it’s because he knew that “In death could they understand life and in life could they change the world” which could potentially mean he took his own life and he does in fact have a reincarnation somewhere.
