I was at the live and man did I scream of joy when I saw Clint's name.

And I'm so confused on why you all want the cheating wizard, like seriously, Clint is just awkward and anxious, stuck all day inside and unhappy about being pushed by his father to do a job that isn't rewarding for him and yet, unlike the wizard once you raise his hearts he stops being rude (the same as Shane), and unlike the wizard he isn't a stuck-up ass.

And unlike what everyone and their mothers say he is neither an incel nor a creep (watch the cutscenes and read the dialogues instead of skipping them) it's the same problem as with Pierre and Demetrius and your glossing over their wives' flaws in favour of wanting to "save them" from their "horrible husbands" (even more confusing when it's Jody to get this treatment, like, what did Kent do to you?).

Also about the toenails dialogue at Ginger island, he just said that he hasn't clipped them (“Oh no… I forgot to clip my toenails.”), which I suppose just means that his nails are slightly long, but not dirty, on the other hand Shane literally tells you that his feet are so nasty that the crabs are enjoying a meal of toe cheese (“That's right… I'm not wearing any shoes or socks. Some call it a public health risk. The crabs seem to enjoy it, though.”), no hate on Shane, he's one of my favourite characters, but honestly I think his dialogue is nastier and no one seems to talk about it as much as Clint's toenails one.

Anyway, congrats to all the Clint fans (myself included) that will finally get more content of their shy and anxious blacksmith in the next update.

Just saw something on Twitter that apparently they might be adding 2 new marriage candidates for Stardew. Am I the only one who is praying that better not be true. Literally what is even the purpose of that? Where the hell are these people going to be living if it’s new characters and if it’s already existing characters like Sandy and Wizard.. yeah, ew. The characters are supposed to have ambiguous ages, the wizard is clearly over the age of 40. Also 12 is the perfect number of candidates, you’re ruining that by making it 14. I literally see no reason for this to even be a thing. The game hasn’t changed in years. Sure, there’s been updates but they’re simply adding to the game, not changing how things have been since the game released. This is genuinely ruined my entire morning

I must say, I am pleased as punch that someone finally spoke up about the wizard's faults! I was starting to worry I was the only one who thought critically of him.

To add on: I honestly don't think old Rasmodius would be any better for Caroline than Pierre is. He may be more "exciting" (whatever that's supposed to mean)...but who's to say he wouldn't just ignore her for his studies like how Pierre sometimes neglects her for his business?

Moreover, if the baby daddy drama surrounding Abigail is true, then Ras has demonstrated a capacity to cheat and to shirk responsibility for his mistakes. Even now, he refuses to contact his "mystery" daughter and there is nothing in canon to justify that decision...other than that he's a selfish coward.

(For his many faults, at least Pierre chooses to stick with his wife and daughter despite all his suspicions. That he hasn't acted on them suggests he may be trying to make peace with the idea because he doesn't wish to lose either of them.)

None of which is to say Ras is evil! Just, not a great guy to have as a mate or as a parent.

Im not a fan of the wizard. I don't love him, neither hate him. I think that the best thing about him, it's that it's a wizard himself. But if he was a regular Joja Market employer, I'm sure he would be much more less popular and people would villainized him for cheating his ex wife and having an illegitimate secret daughter.

Also, and this is personal, I'm not a big fan of people who chose being eccentric, got involved in dark mysteries, got involved in a very messy familiar situation and then complain for being treated differently and with fear by others. I prefer Linus, who is also eccentric but he accepts happily the good and bad consequences of being different and he only involves in others peoples life to rescue you from the mines.

🍄‍🟫 here. I swear I turned on anon last time, I guess tumblr glitched and turned it off while I was typing. Anyway this is gonna a long one and probably the last one. I know there are more characters but I haven't met them yet so I can't say anything about them

Leah: Theoretically I should like in her or at least be interested in her. I'm also an artist who has trouble showing my works to the world, and I also wish to move out of the city to the countryside one day. Leah is very relatable to me, and yet I don't care about her at all? I have no idea why. I planned to marry her before I found out Krobus existed lol

Penny: I know she's probably around the farmer's age but my brain keeps giving me the impression that she's really old, and because of that I keep mistaking her for Jodi. I would date and marry her if it weren't for the fact that she wants children

Pam: I have mixed feelings towards her. On one hand, I like her personality. On the other hand, so many things she does piss me off. She litters all around her house, she drinks until blackout drunk then goes to work as a BUS DRIVER while hungover, she doesn't pay her tab at the saloon on time, she keeps slacking off, and all top of all that she's the reason Penny has to live in a trailer and worry for her. I want to like her but she's making it so much more difficult than it could be. I skimmed through Pam's wiki article one time and found out that there's an event where she yells at Penny for letting the farmer helps clean their trailer. While I empathize with her feeling embarrassed and not wanting help from an outsider, the way she handles it is absolutely unacceptable to me. Still, I can't bring myself to despise her like how I despise Lewis and Pierre. I want her to be better and I wish she could pick up a hobby and stop depending on alcohol so much. Sorry for the rambling, it's just that she reminds me of someone I know irl

Gunther: I find it weird that he technically exists but also don't. We can't befriend him. We only ever see him at the museum and briefly in the community center cutscene, he doesn't show up anywhere else. Asides from our first interaction with him, all he talks about is whether or not we have something to donate. He doesn't even have his own room. I suspect that he's a last minute addition to the game and ConcernedApe never got the time to flesh him out

Clint: Finding out he's a "nice guy" is something I never prepared for, so it sucks thay I have to depend on him to progress the game. Whenever I go to his place to upgrade tools or smash geodes I get uncomfortable till I get out

Elliott: He's so funny and pathetic. I find him relatable as someone who is broke but buys and collects expensive artworks anyway. If I weren't attracted only to women I would probably marry him

Willy: He's a cool and generous guy. I like him but I don't go to the beach much so he's still at 2 hearts after 2 in game years sadly

Krobus: I'm so glad he exists because I don't want to marry any of the bachelorettes. Having a cute shadowy monster as a roommate is way cooler than marriage anyway. Literally he's so perfect, everything I learn about him makes me love him more

Wizard: His beard is ugly and his name is stupid

Sandy: I wish she was a romanceable character. She's like Emily but without all the weird shit. And she didn't put me in a fucking cop outfit (btw I got to the desert festival in year 2 and on the very first day Emily decided to put me in a Joja wage slave outfit, kill me)
