Not A Book Friday
I had never heard of this. So, when it popped up on the top podcast list for my podcast app, I gave it a try. It’s only 5 episodes too, so, you don’t have to invest the time in it like a “The Teacher’s Pet” or other very long podcast serieses.
The original incident takes place in 1974. The Gerri Betz and her family finds a metal sphere on Fort George Island. Not too long after that some witnesses say that this ball/sphere/orb, whatever it is, starts moving and doing things by itself, with no outside impetus. The Navy gets involved, outside UFO people get involved.
But, as things are wont to do, they start getting out of control. What seemed like good attention to Gerri and her family at first, then turns worse and worse, and there is even the question of, is the ball that they started with the same ball that they still have.
I think of this podcast much like the ‘Conspiracy Theories’ podcast that’s put on by Parcast. This is such an interesting story with so many layers and twists and turns. Personally, I think that it’s probably part of some machine that got thrown out whenever (not a surprising thing for the early 1970s unfortunately). But, those are facts. The story that the podcast host tells during these five episodes. That’s the interesting part.
