Re: the bucktommy endgame tags. I agree it could potentially be a Travis/Emmett type break up and get back together thing. Though hopefully not as toxic as they have been lol

Yeah! Tbh I don't watch nearly enough Station 19 to be able to comment much on the nuances of Travis and Emmett's relationship, but yeah, if BuckTommy were endgame I think it would probably happen a little like that. Idk, the vibe I get from Tim et. al is that he was bored of what was going on with Buck's romantic life and wanted to inject new life into it through this storyline. Buck being attracted to men opens up a brand new avenue for Tim to be creative, and I don't think he'd want to cut off all those future possibilities for Buck by sticking them together in Buck's only relationship for the rest of the series so fast.

But I do think in a world where Buck and Tommy's first go-around ended amicably (which is sort of what I'd foresee for them anyway) and the show didn't intend to go forward with making Eddie the endgame, Tommy could definitely come back around later to become the endgame relationship for a lot of the reasons you mentioned in your tags. I don't think it would be very narratively satisfying for Buck to end up with someone who's not a first responder and doesn't have firsthand experience with that life, and I think Tommy would be a really good option that would make Buck's endgame LI fit seamlessly into the world around them through his connections with the other mains instead of just something on the side to tide Buck over in his own singular storylines. Very interested to see where they go from here with them, and I do hope we at least get the rest of this season with BuckTommy, if not more!

Anyway, here we go.

Which of the boys would go absolutely overboard, like extra af, for Valentine's day? Callum or Ben?

oh callum, absolutely. especially their first valentine’s as proper boyfriends. he goes the whole 9 yards - i’m talking candles, roses, wine, chocolates, a homemade meal that he spends half the day stressing about. puts on a nice shirt and dithers around waiting for ben to show up - ben, who had been expecting a quiet, no fuss night in together because ‘it’s a con anyway cal, i don’t need a specific day or a load of gimmicks to show you that i love you; i’m not straight’. (ben, who had bought a single red rose, a card and a nice bottle of wine for them anyway bc he’s a sap and he knows callum likes valentine’s and as much as he might hate it, he’s not gonna deprive callum of that). and ben is caught between being very flattered and very overwhelmed because it’s sweet but it’s A Lot. and he can see that callum has gone to a lot of effort and is trying very hard to impress him, which ben doesn’t really understand because callum already has him, lock stock and barrel - if anything it should be the other way around. he tells callum as much, which seems to embarrass him, and ben feels terrible for making him feel bad. he seems to forget all about it when ben pulls out the card, though, thankfully. (and if the food ends up a little bit crispy around the edges bc ben blows him in the kitchen in order to help him chill out a bit, then no one but the two of them need to know).

it was a good day in the end, and one that both of them remember fondly, but it does become like a running joke after that (once callum can see the humour in it the situation, once he is in a more confident place and stops feeling like he has something to prove to ben and to everyone else). every valentine’s they try and outdo each other - i’m talking giant teddies (that lexi always ends up with in her bedroom), giant cards with obnoxious, corny messages (that ben always makes a point of displaying right in plain sight for everyone to see), giant bouquets of flowers (that ben gets sent to the funeral parlour in the middle of the day with nothing on the card but 'these ain’t for the stiffs x’). one year callum shows up at the car lot with a bunch of heart shaped balloons while ben is with a customer. callum just stands there like butter wouldn’t melt in the corner of the room while ben looks mortified but also like he’s desperately trying not to burst into laughter. he also looks very in love. it’s sickeningly cute :-)
