Bro no way a fan did the “in front of my salad” meme💀 I’d die of embarrassment! I bet Ryan and Oliver had no idea what it meant. My poor innocent pookies🥹💀
you know… this might be a very bold first post to this blog- especially when i created it with the sole purpose of being able to observe the 9-1-1 fandom from a standpoint of not really being IN with anyone/anything- but i has this thought and i just needed to address it
in my time kinda sitting back and observing this fandom over the past couple years under both my main blog (that i am keeping anonymous for my own peace and sanity) and this new one (created to be separate from my main blog intentionally) i have come to find that every single blog on here that continues to fawn over and glaze that man reads like they use chatgpt to write every single word they post about him which… honestly checks out for the kind of people they all seem to be and the kind of people they choose to praise unabashedly
i mean even on other platforms: twitter, instagram, tiktok comments; they all have a certain… ai generated quality about them that really screams spam bot to me; it’s honestly a bit comical in how reflective of their own morals it is that every word of praise for that man comes across as if it were fabricated by a computer that lacks any shred of humanity or actual intelligence beyond artificial regurgitation of the same hashtags and phrases that they choose to hyperfixate on
the symbiotic relationship between ai, anti-intellectualism, and lack of media literacy, comprehension, and awareness through the lens of fandom when it comes to the way im which whiteness is often the sole criteria to become a fan favorite, thus allowing racism and misogyny from the character (as well as racism and homophobia from the actor) to be so swiftly dismissed is so fascinating to me
anyway… back to observing silently with the occasional interjection via comments.
I dont know if it'll be effective or work, but if enough fans send angry mails to ABC for the next few months (especially before they start filming season 9), the show just might revive bobby nash. It's rare, but it's been done before on other shows--when fans make enough noise and stop watching the show (threatening low viewership and thus loss of money) to bring back a character.
You know what makes the 911 insufferable? The fucking fans. Well not all of the fans, some of them? Why can we all just enjoy the show? Enjoy the characters. And not shit on actors we don’t like? No, I don’t care who doesn’t like who. This is my comfort show. Stop shitting on people’s parades. You don’t like a particular actor, fine. You don’t like the ship, fine. Maybe watch the show and stay away from social media, that shits on the actors. Just take the show for what it is. Seriously stay away from the drama. The world is filled with such terrible crap, and when we find something that brings us joy, why must we find ways to argue about it?! Stop adding to the drama.
9-1-1 Angela Bassett Archive
I am currently working on a 9-1-1 archive of anything Angela related that I plan on making accessible to everyone. I have already collected a lot of behind the scenes pictures and videos over the years and from going through fanpages but I just found another 60 on my phone so I know I'm missing more.
Long story short: are any 9-1-1 fans here willing to send me all their Angela-related 9-1-1 bts pics and videos that you've stored on your phone/computer so the archive can be as complete as possible?
I'd credit you in the archive itself for contributing and ofc you'd get full access to the full archive as soon as I'm done uploading everything, too.
Materials in this archive thus far include bts content, stills, featurettes, promos, written interviews, promotional images and scenepacks.
TLDR: Please send me your Angela 9-1-1 behind the scenes content. Just DM me here :)
After seeing the discourse of these last 2 911 episodes and seeing the "fan reaction", I am reminded of the distinct difference between the 911 fandom and the 911 Lone Star fandom.
