The “Transisthmus Corridor,” an infrastructure project that will connect the Gulf of Mexico with the Pacific for commercial purposes; a million hectares of fruit and wood trees in Chiapas that would replace native "unproductive" forests; and the so-called "Maya Train". The Maya Train is a large-scale infrastructure project proposed by Lopez Obrador to connect the whole Yucatan Peninsula for tourism, transportation and economic purposes. It’s been strongly criticized by local organizations and welcomed by many others. To continue with it, Lopez Obrador called for a national consultation by late November, with an outcome of 89.9 percent in favor. According to the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) Convention 169, Indigenous peoples should be consulted by governments over any project related to their territory. But Lopez Obrador’s consultation was at a national level, ignoring the established protocol. The Indigenous National Congress (CNI) and the Indigenous Government Council (CIG), both backed by the EZLN and multiple organizations across the country, made clear their opposition to these and other mining, touristic, agroindustrial and infrastructure projects that threaten indigenous communities and territories.

Those darn wood tree badges!

It's tough to get those wood tree badges (Wood Abettor, Lumber Lover, and Timber Nut) out in the "wild".  So to get them, I suggest you put as many patches as you can in your backyard and plant wood tree beans in them.

Every time a wood tree with three branches grows into a wood tree with four branches upon your petting/watering it, it counts toward the achievements. So here's what you need to do:

1. Plant the bean(s)

2. When they're past seedling stage, fertilidust them to three branches

3. Water and pet them until they are four branches

4. Once they are four branches, you may immediately harvest them.  It will take more than one harvest to knock them back down to three branches. Don't pet or water them until they are down to three.

5. Once they're back to three branches, water/pet until they're four again. Harvest to three. Repeat until you've got your badges. 

Note: it is absolutely unrealistic to expect to be able to do this on your home street as well. People are going to fertilidust, pet, water, harvest, you name it. Just put 'em in your back yard and then swap them out for something else once you've got the achievements. You can put as many or as few as you want. I'm actually working on the badges with a single tree, because I don't want to give up any of my herb gardens in the backyard.

Optimum wood tree harvesting

Wood trees: You will get the maximum number of planks per harvest if the wood tree is fully grown -- meaning it has four branches. To get a wood tree to grow, you can either pet/water it or use fertilidust. Fertilidust is faster, and you can use it as many times as you like as long as you have enough dust. Each dusting will grow the tree (or trees) up one level. Fertilidust Lite only grows the tree you are standing near. Fertilidust grows every tree in the street or room. On other trees, Fertilidust will grow them up from young trees (but do not apply to them in the sapling stage, as it won't work). If the tree is already fully grown, it will restore all of its fruit, just like petting and watering does.
