Ok so all of this is subject to change, me and Dave’s player are only just getting to Moonrise tower and don’t know a lot about the game’s lore (or if there’s much lore for Tav) so things will change as we progress further. However, for the most part her backstory is mostly finalised.

Also, bare in mind I’m not a dnd player. I know what the game is, I know the classes and races but that’s about it. I have no clue what lore, gods or goddesses are in the world and what does/doesn’t work. So, Nh’ara’s lore is based purely on my own desires for her character and less “does it work in dnd?”

So obviously there’s the basic info of Nh’ara being a Mephistopheles Tiefling hailing from Baldur’s gate. She’s a bard who whilst performing in the streets was swept up into the Nautiloid and yada yada the plot of the game and what not.

But! That’s not what you’re here for now is it?

Nh’ara was originally a tavern keep, she owned a small establishment somewhere near the edge of Baldur’s gate. Known enough by regulars to stay in business but quiet enough not to attract the wrong crowds. She would spend her time talking to her patrons, filling tankards and exchanging coin.

Quite the mundane life honestly.

Until it wasn’t. After an arduous day at the tavern left the place trashed from a bar fight (the group hadn’t been too fond of “her kind” so she could do little to stop the incident) she took a saunter down by the river. She had planned to go to a carpenter friend who owed her a favour -one of the few quality salesmen willing to sell to her- and had a purse with just enough coin to barter her way into new furniture, and just enough coin to be target.

As was proved when she was Merced by a group of wannabe rouges. When she couldn’t produce enough coin to quell their demands they gutted her and dumped her body in the riverside to rot.

She’s not sure when it happened. If it was hours or months, if she was already dead or if life was just about to let her rest.

All she knows is it happened.

She washed up on a bank not too far from the outer city, coughing and heaving. Eyes stinging from the torment her body had just endured. Except, she couldn’t feel anything. At all. Nothing that she should have felt at least. There was nothing but a sore throat, now covered in an ebony picture, a series of tattoos she never had before. They pulsed a light teal, their glow seemingly timed with her beating heart.

Nh’ara hardly even remembered what had happened. It’s like everything she’d known, heard, seen, felt in her entire life was suddenly scrubbed clean from her mind. Her skin had grown a ghastlier colour; her hair seemed paler than what she thought it should have been but she had no memory to back up her mind.

After that she hung up the mantle of bartender (though it was a mantle she scarcely knew now) and played songs for the masses in the streets, never quite settling down in one sector of the city for long and never once stepping foot near the banks again. Not for knowledge of what had happened but a nagging.

The waters called to her and she didn’t know why.

What did happen? Simple. An undead patron used their own vengeance to give her a new lease at life and to part their own soul from the watery grave they themselves had endured. As for the strings attached? Well, you’ll get to find that out later ;)

It’s not even entirely clear if Nh’ara still has her own soul or if the two traded places (for lack of a better term). She has fragments of who she was but overall is entirely different, a brand new devil.

So in short: Nh’ara lived a perfectly normal life, was brutally murdered, got revived by a vengeful spirit and now has no memory of her life before 36 and worse yet: no memory that she even had memories she might have lost. She just kind of avoids questions about what she did before. She isn’t too fond the gnawing dread that comes with her inability to answer.

Can I ask for some facts/headcannons with your Ectoloader NG Yuna? (Sorry if I got her name wrong) - Palettepainter (can’t login to tumblr rn)

Oooh sure!! It’s been a while since I’ve written out any headcanons so this should be nice and fun @palettepainter :)

Yuna facts and headcanons:

Okay so Yuna! A sweet lil baby who just likes people to be happy. She often will do whatever she can to make the people around her happy, just so she can hear them laughing

She is 17 during the canon timeline, attending UA in her second year

She lost both her legs and eyesight in a villain related car accident at the age of 7, and after losing her parents to this accident, stayed in a special children’s hospital until she was around 10

She was adopted by Higari and Ecto when she was 10

Her quirk is called “adapt” - it allows her to adapt and change different parts of her body, which lets her adapt to whatever situation she is in. It takes a lot of energy and the larger the transformation, the more energy it drains. She cannot unfortunately use her quirk to heal/regrow her eyesight or legs, as those are parts of her body that are gone completely and cannot be adapted

Over the years she has learnt how to use her quirk to aid her in sensing her surroundings and to utilise her type of movement better

Higari suggested that she tried modifying her fingertips slightly, in the less energy-consuming way possible for herself, so that she can pick up vibrations and, with the help of some other pros and friends that worked this way, slowly taught her how to use these to help almost visualise her surroundings and be more aware of them. With the help of some support items that Higari specially designed for her, it allowed her to become a little more confident with her movements, and also helped her to train her other senses to be stronger in general

(Another lil cool thing is that she can sprout working wings, that only last for about 30 seconds to a minute, and take up to 5 minutes and a heck ton of her energy to create- depending on the size, the usability, time it takes to create, and time it lasts will change. She doesn’t really use this because well. It is very draining and basically useless, but if in an emergency, she may use it)

She loves dumplings and cookies! (And also a lot of ice cream :P)

Cannot ride in the car without holding someone’s hand (self-explanatory) so usually Ecto sits in the back with her

Loves the smells of different flowers, especially lilies

She actually loves to cause mischief and joke around with her friends. She especially loves making, and hearing, bad jokes-

Singing.

Oh my god her singing.

She loves to sing, and she has an absolutely beautiful voice. Will often participate in little concerts with her fellow classmates, and oh her voice is just <33

I hc that the ectoloader household and family (and friends) are all incredibly musical anyway, and Yuna loves to sing with her dads whenever they get the chance. Especially musicals. Oh when they watch musicals (it is Ecto’s choice of Tv every time) there will never be a moment where one of them is not just singing along.

(I have a very musical hc relating to ectoloader’s UA days, and this reminds me how much I love that hc)

She will get embarrassed when caught singing around the house though, that is very obvious when she hears Higari and Ecto just standing at the doorway as she is singing and she just stops in her tracks like o-o

She hates the smell of coffee. Absolutely despises it. Which is tricky when you have Higari making like 3 litres of it every morning

One of her favourite dishes are when Iku (Higari’s momma, if you missed this post <3) cooks the meals she used to cook for Higari when he was a kid. They are always the best comfort meals :)

She gets along incredibly well with her class, and has that type of personality that everyone just looks at her and goes “^///^ oh that’s adorable actually” ahah

She has a very close best friend, who I would love to introduce sometime, and she is very protective of Yuna. However they also both may have slight feelings for each other.....but shhh don’t tell them that, they don’t know that yet! They are too innocent to realise that yet-

Ahh I think that is all I can write out for now, but I could go on about any of my ocs for hours I love them so much-

But anyway, thank you so much for asking!! In short, Yuna is a sweet lil cinnamon roll who makes everyone smile and loves her friends and family more than anything ❤️❤️❤️
