In order for myself and my fiance to live comfortably (pay bills and buy groceries), be able to enjoy ourselves (go on dates and travel a bit), and be able to save a little money for the future (to get a forever home and have kids)... we will need to be making at LEAST $400 each a week. This adds up to $3,200 a month between the both of us. Our first job living together was great money wise, but the job itself sucked because they were making my fiance work 2 weeks straight with no days off, then get one day off and work another 2 weeks. His last month before leaving there he got ONE day off the whole month, other than the day he called in sick because he was in so much physical pain he couldn't go in. It was ridiculous.

The pay was great because we were both getting so much overtime that we were bringing home nearly $1000 a week, and finally had money to do some things. But, the job was so shitty we just couldn't deal with it and my fiance got fired because he missed too many days from being overworked and too tired and sore to go. And they fired me without giving a reason. (I've recently found out my team lead and his brother who was also a team lead got fired, and my group lead got demoted. My mom quit and got another job closer to home, and another team lead I really liked quit when she did. Also, 2 of my favorite coworkers quit for various reasons. The place went to hell in a handbasket and I don't imagine they'll be in business much longer.)

The second job we got paid a little less. We both made over $400 a week usually at the first place, but the second place we were making just under $400 a week (individually). We didn't stay there but for 2 1/2 weeks though because the place was another shit show, and seriously full of meth heads. It was scary and disturbing, and the money was absolutely shit for the work put in. My fiance's hands were cramping up and hurting from hours of holding heavy pneumatic tools. And I pulled a muscle in my arm really bad from picking up 30 pound steel chair settings all day. It was a really shitty job and the pay as a temp was bullshit. Honestly we should have listened to everyone because everybody warned us not to work there... 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

But I've just worked out a budget around what we need and want... and we need a good job making at LEAST $400 a week each. Anything less would mean just barely getting by and not being able to save or do anything. Anything less would mean endless days of just work and sleep to pay the bills... we wouldn't be able to go do anything or buy anything that wasn't absolutely necessary. It would suck and I would probably lose my mind to depression all over again. (Depression my dad doesn't know I have.)

I just want a decent job with a stable and decent income that we can actually LIVE off of. I don't want to "just get by" or survive... I want to be able to fucking LIVE. I'm nearly 21, I want to be able to fucking enjoy my 20's like everyone else.

My Dad can kiss my ass with his thinking I should just accept any dead end job offered to me. Yea I could work fast food and make shit pay... but what fucking use would it be?? I wouldn't be able to get anywhere or get anything done to help build my future? To help build toward my goals... I would just be getting by and surviving, like I'm doing NOW.
