Deload Week Hope everyone had a great Memorial weekend! I timed my deload week to give me the opportunity to fly back home and see friends and family again. I'd like to use this as an opportunity to explain a little bit more about what exactly a deload week is. Although it's not a new concept, it's still new to others. It's essentially a chance to provide the following: 1. Restoration of the body 2. Time to improve your mobility 3. Psychological "breathe" of fresh air. 4. Emphasize your aerobic endurance 5. Entertain other recreational activities. Everyone who participates with my Strength and Conditioning workouts are provided even more depth and knowledge on this pivotal concept. In the mean time, research suggests around a 3:1 relationship between a typical work to rest ratio, meaning 3 weeks on, 1 week off. For more advanced lifters, this can be extended. Here's a picture of me living life and enjoying other sports such as golf which was a huger breathe of fresh air.
