Post Surgery Update
While I've been cleared for light cardio the areas of the incisions, especially the area where the most pain was felt, has me second guessing if I want to attempt today or postpone for tormorrow.
Its important to get enough rest when you are not at 100%, just likes its important to push through and stay consistant. The hope is that I will be back to strength training in 6 weeks, so lets keep our fingers crossed!
Taking A Break
Every once in a while, I get the intuition that my body needs a break. If you're still in the beginning stages of your fitness goals, I recommend continuing to go hard and push through each workout each day but if you're someone who has been exercising regularly for several months to several years, consider that your body may need a resting period. Turns out this was a good idea for me because I noticed an injury in the middle of my back recently so laying off of the heavy equipment for a while will be best for a quick recovery. In the meantime, I'm going to focus on stretching, yoga, and relaxation. I'll continue to stay active with my kids and go on walks daily but overall I want to treat my body well and give it a break. Another positive thing about doing this is when you finally get back to lifting weights again after a few weeks, you shock your muscles a little which initiates better growth and strengthening. Wish me luck!
Thighs are going to be hurting tomorrow!!
Was watching Armageddon with a couple of my housemates. Thinking it was near the end I asked how long was left expecting about 10 minutes or so. Oh no... 1 Hour! But anyway, my butt was killing from sitting down and I wasn't comfortable so I decided to come down to my room to do a bit of stretching instead I ended up doing a mini legs workout :D

Lolo Jones Legs and Lunges Challenge (which I am so chuffed with completing because I HATE lunges! Although I did just jump on the spot when it got to the split lunge jump things at the end!!)
