About Bruce Wayne

In this AU, there is no Batman,yet. Bruce is still the billionaire heir to Wayne Enterprises. He is also an animal rights activist, with a particular focus on the protection of marine life—especially sirens.

One of Bruce’s greatest passions is the study of sirens. Through historical records spanning centuries, as well as the work of the few remaining siren experts, he has developed a systematic and extensive understanding of the species.

Before meeting Siren Joker, Bruce believed that the greatest threat to sirens was humanity’s destruction of the ocean environment. Because of this, he established a foundation dedicated to combating ocean pollution and protecting sirens. However, after meeting Siren Joker, he realized what truly threatened Siren Joker’s life.

About Siren Hunters and the Black Market

Siren Hunters are the primary antagonists in this AU.

For centuries, siren flesh and eggs have been believed to be elixirs of immortality. Even in the modern technological era, a considerable number of people still believe that consuming siren flesh or blood can grant eternal youth. Meanwhile, some ultra-wealthy elites view sirens as rare and exotic creatures, desiring to capture and keep them as living symbols of status. This demand gave rise to siren hunters and an underground black market.

Although humans have attempted to capture sirens since ancient times, technological limitations prevented early hunters from posing a serious threat. However, after the Second Industrial Revolution, rapid technological advancement changed everything. Siren hunters evolved into organized, highly specialized teams equipped with advanced weaponry.

During the global economic boom from the 1970s to the 1990s, large numbers of sirens were captured. Combined with ocean pollution, seabed resource extraction, and uncontrolled industrial fishing, siren populations suffered devastating losses. Already in decline due to industrialization, their numbers plummeted dramatically within just a few decades, pushing them to the brink of extinction.

Worse still, their extreme rarity only increased their value, making black market traders and siren hunters even more desperate and dangerous. Their operations are highly secretive. Bruce is aware of their existence but has struggled to infiltrate and dismantle them directly. Nevertheless, he continues to use his wealth and influence to investigate them and work toward their destruction.

Bruce also dedicates himself to educating the public, spreading awareness that siren flesh and eggs do not grant immortality.

Siren Joker and the Siren Hunters

Siren Joker has only been ambushed once.

Due to his exceptional intelligence, his whereabouts are nearly impossible for humans to track unless he allows it. However, on one occasion, he was caught off guard by siren hunters whose equipment had been significantly upgraded.

During the violent struggle that followed, his left eye was struck by an advanced weapon. The injury permanently altered its appearance, turning the eyeball into a faint silver-blue color. His vision in that eye became severely impaired—he could only see vague shapes—and it became extremely sensitive to light, often tearing up from even minor irritation.

His long-term inability to mate, and the resulting hormonal imbalance, further worsened the condition of his eye, causing frequent pain.

Later, through Bruce’s relentless care and efforts, his left eye eventually recovered.

Sirens Cannot Be Kept in Captivity

Sirens cannot survive in captivity.

Whether wealthy collectors attempting to keep them as pets, or scientists attempting to study them, every attempt has failed. No matter how advanced the tank, no matter how perfectly the ocean environment was simulated, every captured siren died within thirty days.

Their deaths were slow and horrifying.

Their bodies appeared to rot from within, as if something inside them had begun to decay uncontrollably. They died gradually, inch by inch, consumed by internal deterioration and prolonged suffering.

Bruce is fully aware of this fact.

And because of that, no matter how much he worries about Siren Joker’s health, he would never bring him to Wayne Manor.
