What Else Can I Get Out Of My World?
You’ll remember we mentioned earlier that your World is the equivalent of a Wordpress blog, and we’ve carefully considered what you need to help grow this new venture of yours. We’ll be talking a little bit about franchises later, but for now let’s talk about your fans, the lifeblood of any successful author. Without fans, selling books is a tough job.
Ask yourself now, what do your fans really want? Yes they want to read the novels and short-stories that you produce about your world, but quite often that just doesn’t fill their boots. They want more, they want to learn more about these amazing characters you’ve created, and read about the great tsunami that washed a metropolis off the map, or the famous battle that brought about the collapse of the mighty empire. They want to run away from the real world and get lost in this captivating one you’ve created for them (and you should want this too!).
So how do we manage all of this? Simple, we allow them to “subscribe” (Twitter - follow, Facebook - like) to your World so they too can access the Wiki-Pages and Interactive Map. We’ve even given you your very own Message Forum, unique to your World, where you can communicate and discuss things with your fans and get feedback if you want it.
In short, you get your very own community to manage, where your fans can delve into the depths of your World and learn all about the mysteries and other goodies you’ve created. Just like on Twitter or Facebook, you’re building your following.
