mini cosmere theory time: first of the sun’s robust oral histories are hoid’s fault. he showed up in the distant past, possibly before they got to the drominad system, and started that tradition. we already know he started the rosharan worldsingers, that he’s in the terris worldbringers despite not being terris or a feruchemist, and that the similar names have an in-universe reason, so the worldspinners…

Apparently my birthday (30 June) is National Meteor Watch Day??? I bet you could do some fun stuff with that!

Interesting dates for that, since in the northern hemisphere there's not any regular meteor showers during that day! But you can still look for shooting Stars and prep for the Perseids!

Menu: spherical and celestial themed foods! fruit salad where melon and pineapple are cut into stars and balls alongside grapes. swedish meatballs, or spaghetti and meatballs (/veggie balls) for a main dish. maybe kebabs where the veggies are the tail of the meteor and the meatball or tomato or something is the meteor! punch or cocktails with pearl powder mixed in for some spacey vibes. cupcakes decorated like asteroids. if you want a less childs party vibe, you could go for camp foods and take the party outside! roasted hot dogs or Dutch oven pies and chili! lean into the leaving light pollution behind. anything meat based has to have a meteor pun like. meat-eor balls and spaghetti.

activities: obviously stargazing and looking for meteors! but if weather or light pollution is amiss, you can play games like ping pong/drink pong, hot potato, hackeysack, or do a space trivia night! Maybe make paper mache comets together, or some other space themed craft. play baseball where the teams are the Perseids and the Lyrids. watch a space documentary or maybe a scifi movie. if you want to prep for an upcoming meteor shower, you could make t shirts to wear camping and look up best viewing locations and make plans!

decor: celestial vibes, lots of star prints, lots of rocks or meteor shaped stuff. grey balloons with tons of streamers tied to them.

tradition: clearly stargazing is one, but you could also maybe have lighting firecrackers or something if legal at the time in your municipality and the vibe fits the area (i.e., don't be a dick). maybe just sparklers!

13. what is a misconception you had about lgb people before you realized you were one?that we had to be rebellious- you see a lot in the media about loud authority hating gays, but that doesn’t mean it has to be that way. if i want to live quietly, that’s okay, i don’t have to be loud and aggressive and rail at the world. i’m sure a lot of this comes from the culture here in utah, because of the prevalence of mormonism. it’s like, if you’re gay and not mormon you have to be as loud and aggressive about it as you can because you couldn’t bear to be counted as one of them. it doesn’t have to be like that

27. what is a piece of advice you have for young / baby gaysgive yourself time. you don’t have to have yourself figured out right at the start line, if you could even call it that. it takes time, it takes social interaction and learning, and probably more introspection than you’re comfortable with. and don’t, for the love of god, try to do it all on your own unless it’s absolutely not safe for you to talk to people.
