A little teaser for this chapter:

Sebastian walks the last few steps up to the Evans’ family house, taking a deep, bolstering breath as he raises a hand to ring the doorbell. Before his finger can connect with the button, however, the door suddenly swings open. Chris, dressed in his coat and hat, only narrowly manages to avoid a head-on collision by stopping dead in his tracks at the last second, his eyes growing wide in surprise as he clocks Seb standing on his front porch.

“Uh, hi,” Sebastian says dumbly, before realizing his hand is still in the air and quickly letting it drop to his side.

“Hey,” Chris replies breathlessly, a tinge of red coloring his cheeks as he hastily reaches up to pull off his hat. “Hi. What are you… I mean, when…” He abruptly stops talking and sucks in a sharp breath, holding it for a moment before slowly letting it out again. “Sorry,” he says then, rubbing his left bicep in what Seb remembers to be a nervous gesture. “How was the rest of your trip? When did you get back? I figured you’d be spending Christmas with your family.”

Sebastian’s lovely framed by green and red and gold. Sebastian’s gorgeous wreathed by the scents of peppermint hot cocoa and sugar-frosted dough. Sebastian’s beautiful when laughing and sorting through ornaments for the tree, long fingers like music amid glass and glitter and ridiculous Evans family handmade popsicle-stick reindeer.

 Chris watches him. Chris doesn’t mean to watch him. Chris doesn’t want to watch him, except that Chris can’t not: every grin, every gesture when handing over a fuzzy-maned holiday unicorn to a niece, every puzzled head-tip at a foreboding knot in a light-string. Each motion tugs Chris that way like a compass-needle to true north.

 There’s no way to not look. That awareness of Seb’s presence hasn’t gone away, not with years and distance and hurt between them; no, it wakes right back up and kicks Chris in the heart, not with newness but with how easy it is.

 Loving Seb was always the easy part. That hadn’t been their problem.

 Some of the ornaments, old and battered by affection, are missing hooks. Sebastian finds and twists paper-clips into makeshift replacements. His hands have always moved that way: a mixture of clumsy and graceful, entrancing and enthusiastic. He’s wearing green today, in the holiday spirit, and he’s got stray glitter on one forearm under a shoved-up sleeve.

 Scott unearths a lopsided lump of red, and, because Chris’s little brother is a dick, announces, “Hey, bro, I found your greatest artistic achievement ever.”

I knowwww! I was supposed to work at Ass O’clock in the morning, but a friend of mine took my shift so I get to stay home and hide. It works out better that way... Sark has to work, so he can take my Jeep instead of his lil Ford, and maybe not die on the roads... the roads which were more like vague suggestions than roads today on my way home... bleh

Damn, and I thought we were getting a lot! We got close to a foot between the last couple of days.

Yeah this is all in the last 24 hours lol I think it’s FINALLY stopped now, thank goodness, but we’re still right under that big-ass snowstorm cloud, and the forecast calls for it snowing the entire weekend...  I’m going to have to tunnel to work if this continues...

“So I’ll see you same time next week?” Sam asks him, a hand on his shoulder.

Bucky nods from where he’s standing in the doorway, hands shoved in his hoodie pockets. “Always. S-see you next w-w-week,” he says quietly.

That’s when the pair catches his eye. Two blonds, hands moving like lightning as they sign to each other. He notices the hearing aids in both of their ears. They’re both cute, but the smaller one is absolutely stunning. Perfect crescent moon on a clear, starry night gorgeous. Trees mid-turn in the fall gorgeous. Flowers blooming in the spring gorgeous.

He gives Sam a last wave and forces his feet to move.

He texts Natasha on the train home.

[Bucky: So I saw an actual, honest to god angel today. I think I’m in love.]

Which is your story that you feel like everyone skipped over but you love?

I loved this ask but didn’t have a chance to reply till now, thanks Hailli!!

I was mostly thinking of my femslash, which I’m sure a lot of femslash writers can relate to (at least in MCU fandom; my Brooklyn 99 Amy/Rosa is actually one of my most successful fics which is awesome).

Specifically? Maybe my Nat/Sharon origins story. It’s 10k but (I think, anyway) manages to fit in about a decade of character/relationship development with some really nice emotional moments. I’m so proud of it and it does make me a bit sad that it has 28 kudos when a similar style+length fic I wrote for Steve/Bucky has over 250. 

So yeah, that was definitely what I was thinking of in those tags. But I know when I write certain pairings that they just will never be as popular as others, I try not to stop writing them because of that. Thanks again!

Oh, and the fic is called Light of the Grave in case I made anyone curious :)

Do Doms really have a bad rep? I wonder if that's why it feels like i only ever see subs and switches?

It mostly comes from people outside of BDSM. I’ve met many people who upon finding out I happen to Dom who got really weird around me, stopped talking to me, called me oh so lovely names, ect. My favorite was someone yelling at me to “get lost and go enjoy [my] rape fantasy.” 

Little do they know, I’m a gentle Dom and rape roleplay is a hard no for me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯¯\_(ツ)_/¯¯\_(ツ)_/¯
