Hi, just wanted to say that I love your art and characters. I remember that a while ago you made a post talking about some dnd races that you've made/thought of (think it was the post about wraithlings- which are very cool). I've looked around on your blog and it seems that you've only talked about the wraithlings. Would you be willing to give us some info/art of the other original races you've made?
I have made a few here and there-mainly based around things of my personal amusement, so let’s talk about a few of them for the kids who are new here
Wraithlings-If you wanna a creature who is built like a paladin tank with no relgious obligations or sense of gender constructs; Wraithlings are what you seek. Built like a shit brick house, Wraithlings are the embodiment of raw physical power and also emotional instability (which comes from unfortunately them selectively breeding themselves to produce bigger and angrier offspring) Although they are feared as brutes who can and will eat bears-being able to do delicate arts such as sew, paint and even play music has great standing in their community. They are noted well for a strong lack a sexual dimorphism in their race (that means there’s no difference between any of the male identifying or female identifying ones)
ShadowGlop- Or at least that’s was their native tongue roughly translates into thru Common. They’re essentially what the civilization form of a hagfish would be had they been the ones to grow legs. They hail from swamp like villages that are sequestered and kept away form civilization, choosing to make sure their traditions and values remain unchanged. If you like ‘Swamp witches’ Or ‘Bog Wizards ‘as a title, ShadowGlops are your folk. They are noted for having title like names denoting what they do best in life-many being named things like Lilly Finder, King Fisher, Gator Slitter. Their bodies change depending on the moisture in the air-the more moisture, they become slime like, less moisture, their form is more gasious and much like an air elemental. They are immensely sensitive to light and cover themselves in layers and layers of clothing to protect their bodies. Although they make excellent rogues and piss poor combat specalists-there are a few that excel in artificing and magic work. Similar to Wraithlings-they lack natural sexual dimorphism-but will often choose one or the other when they must mingle among other creatures that INSIST on gender being a thing.
(Wraithlings: What is a gender? ShadowGlops: A fake construct made to sell things don’t worry about. It.)
Tenta-Folk-One of the newer races I’ve come up with-Tentafolk are essentially what happens when you leave a tentacle monster be and allow it to grow up into a fully realized form. Immensely intellgent and curious, they often get a bad rap by adventures who claim to be ‘assaulted’ by them in their juvenile stage. In truth, a Tentafolk in this stage of life sees thru their tentacles and was simply examining. Tenta Folk often cram themselves into ‘shells’ like knight armor or braid their tentacles over each other to create a humanoid shape to mingle among the civilized people. They’re very versatile people and can be anything from rogues, magicians, scholars and bards.
Anndd that’s alI can think of now that I have right off the top of my head.
