Like many of my characters, Koya started out life on a TTRPG character sheet. I play a lot of rpgs and I love how the character sheets can give you a concise but detailed overview of who a character is. We can detail his strengths and weaknesses, his motivations and fears. Most importantly every character is balanced that makes them feel more human.

Koya is an Ursa Nomad from the Great Redwood Groves. He was raised surrounded by nature and understands currents of the wind and the taste of the soil. He can fish and farm but it’s unlikely he can read a book. Koya has the strength to rip limb from limb and yet he chooses to be a gentle giant in a world hidden dangers.

Koya has spent much of his life fleeing from his destiny, and yet somehow he has walked right into the jaws of fate.

the struggles of writing smut (general edition)

repeating the same specific actions in one scene

too much descriptions

not enough descriptions

“does this position make any sense?”

stepping away from the computer/laptop/phone/notebook to try and re-enact an action to make sure it’s possible

“where should the hand go?” 

on multiple partners: which limb is to go where again? 

too much kissing

not enough kissing 

how do I write the next kissing scene differently? 

“is this even possible?” 

spends hours searching for a synonym to replace certain anatomy/body parts after mentioning them too often

opening multiple tabs to do research on body parts and verbal sounds

doing research on various sex positions/toys/other things to be added into the story and then forgetting that we still need to WRITE

double checking the characters’ height differences to make sure that their positions can work

there is more than one best feeling in creating but one of my favorites is the

does anyone else have the “if I name them, I get attached” problem with side characters?

like if I give them a name, SOMEHOW that turns into me giving them a half-developed backstory, motivations, and relationships. and then I want to write more about them.

and then I end up with too many characters. you have no idea the cast I had to cut down for TMQ bc I kept. adding. more.
