Celebration: 88,978 Words in One Day!
Just yesterday, a few other LU writers and I, Hot Cheeto Hatred, hosted our first ever monthly (hopefully) Write-a-thon! This event ran on June 4 from 12 am EST to 12 am EST, with one goal in mind---write as many productive words within that day as humanly possible. Words included in the final marathon count ranged from storyboarding, fic writing, editing, answering comments, journalling and homework---basically, any words that furthered yourself, the writing community at large, or your stories. We utilized either the Discord Sprint bot or self-reporting to collect the numbers at the end. Everyone involved gave it their all, with most of them being present for most if not all of the run time as they were able, and I'm so proud of their dedication towards their craft. Anyways, here's the final breakdown of the numbers below, as well as the awards and titles earned by each participant, as decided by the discord server (and myself at random).
I'm doing a write-a-thon, so basically it's an overnight thing where a whole bunch of writers come together and write for as long as they can/12 hours and we'll get breakfast in the morning and if we write a certain number of words, we'll get prizes. So if I write 6000 words, I get some sort of swag for a prize. I've currently written 2000 and I'm taking a break. It's been four hours. Yay... I don't think I'll hit the top goal of 12000 words unless 2 am decides to strike me with inspiration on how to word things. Anyway, I'm using this time to write lots of random little things/aus/snippets that I like to think about but haven't actually fleshed out. I am apparently using those to procrastinate actually writing anything in any of my actual fics already on ao3. On the plus side, one of them is finished and I'm pretty sure I'll be able to finish a second one-shot, so yay
hi there!!! i'm bee from the write-a-thon it's really nice to meet you!!! i was darkmiette LOL if you don't remember me. random icebreaker: who's your favourite link?
Hi hi, yes I remember you!
My favorite Link is Twilight. I almost feel sorry for him though, because I'm the type of fanfiction writer who torments their favorite in every story.
My favorite character type is dark, angsty, and traumatized, so that's why.
But yeah, I really like stories about Twilight and his wolf curse.

Thank you! I am SO hype!
Read This if you like Writing, like Reading, or if you just hate abusive assholes:
Hi, everyone! A friend is currently working to leave an abusive living situation and is struggling to fundraise for initial expenses. Unfortunately we live in a wildly expensive area and moving is neither easy nor cheap. We want to do everything we can, so my partner is running a fundraiser Sept 1-Sept 15! He's a horror and fantasy author and is organizing a Write-A-Thon, with pledges for every 1000 words. We're hoping to raise $1,800 to cover initial apartment expenses. That's a lot total, but only about $128/1000 words if he writes a decent amount, and we're currently 44% of the way there! If you're able to toss even a dollar their way for every thousand words, that would mean the world. Our number one priority is making sure they get into safe and stable housing. Thank you.
Hi, all, and welcome to the Write-a-thon! Thank you so much for helping me fundraise for Lo. This means the world to both of us, and I’m so
