The fact that you are scared to put it out in the internet or to disappoint or whatever makes me laugh so much I mean as soon as you realize that you are CH DARLING it will all go away ❤️❤️😂

To be honest though, I am a little scared! I mean it’s not that think you’re all going to hate it (at least I really hope not 😅), but I’m not sure sharing writing ever stops being scary. Does it ever stop being scary?!?

Writing TLE2 has also been a huge departure from the way I normally operate. As a rule I’m very secretive and I tend to sit on my words for waaaay too long before I share them with anyone. TLE2 has been all about speed, and it’s not nearly as complete as TLE1 was when I started posting it. I’ll still be doing a lot of writing and polishing as I go, but If I spent as long on this as I’d like to, it would take me literal years to finish a book, and then I’d never finish this damn series. 🤣🤣

So I’m trying really hard to push past my perfectionism, but it is a teeny bit scary to me!! Old habits die hard and all that 😂🙈

What makes you most nervous about writing part III? of the special series?

What makes me most nervous is the possibility that I’ll try to write the story and I can’t because I’m not any good.

Folks who read my Author’s Notes know that I’ve got a fair bit of self doubt about my writing. When I reread the first two books in the Special series, I think they’re... okay. There are parts I like, parts that I find awkward or clunky, and parts that make me cringe. The stories aren’t nearly as good as I’d like them to be, but I suppose they’re serviceable for someone of my modest talent.

What scares me is the possibility that even these okay stories were the limit of my ability - that I might have gotten lucky even to write what I did. I am terrified that I’ll try to write Special part III and it will be a disaster. I imagine awkward sentences, stilted dialogue, action scenes that are bland and boring, romance/spicy scenes that are bland and boring, comedy scenes that aren’t funny, one-dimensional cardboard characters, and a plot that’s a good cure for insomnia. Not to mention my compulsive need to use three adjectives in a sentence when one or none would be better.

Basically I’m most nervous that I will sit down to write Special part III and I’ll find out that I suck.

Some of the commenters on the first two books have suggested I have something called Impostor Syndrome, and having read the Wikipedia entry on it, I think they’re right. It is probably the single worst thing for me about writing and it has on occasion kept me from writing for weeks at a time.

That probably wasn’t the most uplifting answer I’ve ever posted but thank you for the ask. Even more, thank you for giving me an opportunity to get that off my chest. I’ve been working on chapter 1 of Special III, so I guess we’ll see pretty soon how this plays out...

I’m not afraid of querying and not getting published (perhaps because I’m nowhere near that yet). But I am afraid of no one buying my book(s).

I wonder if I finish my three works in progress for fanfictions would my brain let me work on some of my original works then? Somehow I don't feel lucky enough to not be swept away in more fun fanfictions. Got a bad case of First/Khaotung 😆 Got 4 fanfictions around their characters I want to do. Was hopeful to a transition to work on original like my fantasy princess lesbian, disabled lesbian princesses, dark supernatural female lead fiction which are the furthest in completed outlines. Ah, well at least I'm writing and posted a finished story. Small victory dance with a side of doubt.

I have this horrible fear I’m never going to finish any of my WIPs. Ever. I’m just going to work on them forever and ever and never get anywhere and they’ll still be unfinished when I grow old and die.
