Wait, let me just write that down...
The struggle is real! It is so hard sometimes to let my characters go through it all. And then you let them grow and that’s the magic.
Thank you, writerslogic , for providing me a link to cheap The Virgin Suicides copies!
I can't decide, but I think I'm the shelf
You know how books will fall over if there aren't enough stories on the shelf? Well, I've been collecting a lot of stories this year; things to learn from and find inspiration... And at first I was worried that the shelf would collapse, but now I'm beginning to see that the shelf can hold whatever weight as long as there are stories to fill in the empty spaces, to keep the books from falling over.
A note to myself:
About words, about life, about love. About that moment when you KNOW. And everything that it stands for.
There is always a moment, after I hear a profound quote, after I watch an inspiring movie, after I read a book that just gets to me, after I listen to a song that touches me in a way that I don’t completely understand. There’s always the moment after.
This is that moment.
That time when I find it most difficult and simultaneously most necessary to breathe. That time when there’s a new weight on my chest and my brain that makes me remember why Marty Mcfly’s expression about everything being so heavy makes sense. That second when I just think, ‘wow’. It comes out on an ordinary breath, in a life-changing whisper.
In moments like this, the whole world is infinite. I am infinite. My thoughts and dreams go on forever and they won’t ever stop, even after I’m gone, because somewhere, at some time, someone else is having a similar thought and a similar dream. Maybe it’s the same one.
The ideas and words, they have power, more power than anything else will ever have. The words and the ideas behind them are what make the difference. They might even be unspoken, and in fact, they probably are. But they’re still there.
And we are nothing without them.
