I’ve got to give a huge shoutout to all of you that shared with me your ideas on what to write. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming your way… . At the age of 4, I began begging for a horse. My mother says it’s because they made a grave mistake when I was a toddler, and bought me “Rusty” -- a spring-loaded rocking horse. I lived on that horse. And as a toddler/preschooler, I had terrible ear infections. Mother reminisces that more than once they awoke to me rocking on Rusty, when I’d get sick. He always made my ears feel better. I was sold. I needed the real thing. And I was relentless. … I’ll never forget the day my mom called me at school, no less, to tell me that they’d made it happen. That a horse was in my very near future. Elated does not begin to describe how I felt that day, standing in the school lobby, on the phone. I’m fairly certain there were tears. … Butch was a super kind, 5 year old gelding. He wasn’t exceptionally educated but he was really gentle, and he had personality to spare. I think my dad liked him because when we were in the corral with the horses she was selling, he came over and nibbled at his boot. I of course was in love with all of them. But he was the one everyone said was best for me. So $500 later, home we came with my new best friend… . I’ll post a link when the full article is published! . Thank you! Thank you! . You all inspired me. I’m grateful. . Are you looking forward to reading the whole piece? . #lifestory #Mystory #ahorsestory #writeyourownstory (at Ducheneaux Quarter Horses) https://www.instagram.com/p/CZxOq5Gv12Z/?utm_medium=tumblr
This is how I fight my battles
Dearly beloved,
I have to tell you that you will survive. I know, you're sitting wishing it could all be over wondering how on earth you can live another day - but you will. I know you will.
I know you will because I have and despite my attempts not to, I am here to tell the tale and yes, to live another day, and another after that.
Child of God, you are so fucking strong. So brave and beautiful, only you bring what you bring to the world. I am telling you this because I haven't had anyone say it to me, and I don't want that to be your story. But if you are the only person that believes you're great, that's okay, because you also have your God cheering you on.
And I am too of course.
You are made of things that cannot be conceived by the human heart. You are magic incarnate, I promise, if you’re reading this and think that doesn't apply to you, you’re wrong, it always has and it always will.
Your armour doesn't have to be metal, it could be anything that makes you think another day on this earth is worth it, because friend no matter how dark it gets, your story isn't over and my goodness is it worth carrying on to another day, another month, another year to watch that story continue.
This is how I fight my battles. With cheesy TV and worship music, with tears and cake and dogs. With scripture and medication and knowing that if i have to be my own champion, no matter how fucking hard that is, I can do it.
So can you.
Learn my love, what you need to fight your battles. Stick around, I want to know how your story turns out.

Don't expect her to paraphrase her life for you; she was born to be a story, and if you can't understand that, then perhaps she's beyond your reading level. -Jonny Ox #remington5 #typewriterpoem #typedaily #writeyourownstory #selfpublished #beyond #jonnyox #jonnyoxquotes #perhaps #getoutofmyway #expectations #shereadstruth #completestory #sheisawesome #strongwoman #freetoedit #finaldraft https://www.instagram.com/p/Bs8bClvhFTl/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1qojctpxq54q3
