Trying to edit the shared Collision Course document at the same time as my mother comes with... complications at times. She caught up so much faster than I thought she would and now I'm running behind.
When you go to write 'flutters' and almost write 'slutters'.
After more than a year (maybe two years, what is time?), I started working on my Suoernatural/The Walking Dead crossover John Winchester/Paul “Jesus” Rovia fic again.
I had two chapters and a coda left to write. But then Jesus had to open his big mouth and tell John and Eileen that everyone in TWD universe is infected with the zombie virus and if they die, they turn. As you can imagine John Winchester did not take this well. Rather, he did not take the fact that this was the first he was hearing if it well.
Now I have to go back and reread everything I wrote in previous chapters and hope Jesus already mentioned it at some point. Otherwise, this will really fuck up my plan for the end of this fic.
Why can’t characters just behave the way I want them to?
(Basically I wrote my way into a third act breakup when I intended the breakup to happen as the cliffhanger to bring us to the next part of the planned series. Ugh!)
I tend to write in a kind of half-assed 3rd Limited POV - especially for fanfic. Call it laziness but for hobby writing I'm not about to blow my own sanity out by sticking to all the rules exactly. (Also I'm just not a fan of 3rd omniscient in general)
The "half-assed" part can sometimes go awry. Usually it's just falling out of tenses occasionally and not really giving a fuck overall when that happens. Today is a little more noticable.
I started a chapter fully intending on it being Mel's POV...and somehow I finished it without realizing it's entirely in Becca's POV. Which, works technically since the chapter is written well but does not work for the structure of the overall story since it makes zero sense as to why we would "see" into Becca's head. I am not really looking forward to spending the next however long attempting to restructure this entire thing flip a 5 page scene into a different POV.
Maybe I shouldn't write while hungry. That was supposed to say sand village lol
that cold panic you get when your save on your wip messes up and your entire first chapter is deleted
i recovered everything but i was screaming internally while searching through my backups folder
I'm pretty sure I had a big idea for a self indulgent fic last night but of course I decided to fall asleep before writing anything down... not even a general plot line :( ugh
Im pretty sure it had to do with Felix and the Saltburn verse but I can't remember :(
