Ahn Kyuchul – Invisible Land of Love
1,000 participants in successive order transcribe Korean and other literary works throughtout the exhibition period. Each participant, who has registered his/her schedule of participation online, transcribes from a given book for one hour on the desk in the ‘scribe’s room’. The manuscript, completed with the handwriting of many people, is reproduced in limited editions after the exhibition, and distributed to the participants of the work. 1,000 Scribes retraces the meaning of the obsolete practice of handwriting today, and also forms an invisible solidarity of anonymous indibiduals and strangers to each other who participante in a collective action.
