Tips for writing while also dealing with adhd
Write a little everyday, or almost everyday. It can be as little as 100 words, tho i recomend something between 300-500. Make a calendar where you write which WIP did you worked on every day.
Following the last one, remember to keep tracks on your progress, but not on how much progress you made each day. Any progress is good progress. Reward yourself with breaks or little treats any time you made any progress.
Work on several projects at the same time, specially if they're not time sensitive. That way, when you can't focus on one, move on to the next one. You're still making progress in your WIP's and that's important.
When having an inspirational rush, write down inmediatly what you came up with. You can later on brainstorm about it, but it's important you don't forget this new idea.
If you can't focus unless you're doing several things at the same time, listen to music or turn on the TV in a show that's not that interesting to you. That way you won't start focusing more on the show than on your writing - podcasts are also good. If you prefer music, create a playlist for your WIP that'll help you keep focused in your work and maintain you in the zone.
If you're the type of person who has a lot of notes spreaded all around, take time to get them all together in one single notebook. You can rewrite them, cut them and paste them, colore them, anything you want; and try to put them in order of WIP's. It'd be good if you do the same if you have concept art.
Make little goals like "Reaching 1000 words" or "Reaching 20 pages" or "Writing everyday for a whole week" and reward yourself with something when you get them.
There's a place and a time in your house where you're more likely to be productive. Find it and use it. If it's not in your house, make sure its somewhere you can visit almost daily (a cafe, the school library, etc)
