I'm curious how many people's response or reaction to a (fiction) story is "I could do that"/"I want to do that"/"I want to be like that"?

Ever since I was a child that's been my immediate response to nearly every story that's captivated me or that I've enjoyed; that's the lesson if any that I've taken.

But recently I've increasingly come across people who just see a story SOLELY as a window into someone else's life; to watch and then close, and only think about inasmuch as "how might it have continued?"

Not that it matters, but now I'm wondering if my take was a more unique or more ND take on fiction as a very concept - and most people don't do that?

It would make some other things that most people do make a lot of sense in a twisted way.

Day 8: Most Hated Character?

Instead of naming a character, as I'm not done with the series and have heard god awful things about some characters coming up in the show, I'm just going to say that I absolutely despise everything to do with those Syfy ghost hunting rejects, The Ghostfacers.

It's not that the world wasn't ready. It's that the episodes are irrelevant.

I've always hated those stupid ghost hunting shows on Syfy. Paranormal Activity is trash. Found footage flicks are one of the worst genres in horror. Their name is rubbish. Plus they're morons. The episodes they're in are basically what filler episodes are in anime, as you can completely remove them, and it in no way will remotely affect the plot. I wish instead of them disbanding in season 9, they each got dismembered by some fucking ghost.

The only thing I have remotely liked about these characters is that they referenced Buffy The Vampire Slayer in season 1, making it cannon within the Supernatural universe.

That said, it meant the TV show is cannon within Supernatural, not the Buffy-verse. Which is so odd, as quite a few actors from the Buffy-verse guest starred in episodes of Supernatural, so you'd think they'd be recognized or something, but nope. It's kinda sad, as I would've killed for that crossover.

I feel like Buffy & Dean would be best friends due to all their similarities.

And it's why I fully ship the idea of Dean & Faith and not Buffy & Dean, as I also ship the idea of Buffy & Faith, so Faith hooking up with what is basically the male equivalent to Buffy Summers, seems right in all the right ways when you really think about it.

As canonically, neither Buffy or Faith in the TV series are gay but there were so many undertones that screamed it that it's hard to deny that there wasn't actually something there between them, so her ending up with what is essentially just a male version of Buffy Summers, just screams perfection to me. Plus, I believe that Faith is literally Dean's type of woman, so in their two respective universes, they're a perfect match for each other.
