Day 2 prompts for Tobias week

Wwtd: if he won $50mil in the lotto.

He would not overly publicise it, he would only tell people close to him.

1. Pay off mortgage

2. Give some money to his mum Beth. She is by no means impoverished, she is comfortable but he would want her to have some money.

3. Donate to some charities in his home town in Philly. It was a middle class area but there are areas of disadvantage and he would put some money into some scientific programs, especially encouraging girls into the STEM fields.

He would have some fun too and invest some of it also.

Friendships:

Tobias on high school and at U Penn for undergrad had friends but was not overly close. Then we goes to Hopkins and meets Ethan. Where they met is here. It was a friendship that was found on similarities in familial settings, love of good coffee, bourbon and similar career goals. Ethan fast became the brother he wished he had. Then he screws things up and after that night with Estelle things were never the same and the loss of trust turned everything toxic until they were no longer friends. This hurt Tobias so when there was an opportunity to work at Edenbrook with Ethan he took the chance that they could reconcile which they did. Tobias did have other friends at Hopkins and when he started at Kenmore he did make more professional acquaintances but never had really close friendships. In saying that there were people he got to know better than others, Harper Emery being one. He becomes quite close to Casey as well as a friend in the future also.

WWTD? Tobias randomly buys a lottery ticket while getting his morning coffee. Turns out it's the winner, and he's just won $50 million dollars. What does he do?

This one is easy; at least it is if he wins post-dating/being married to Casey.

In my HC, Tobias comes from a super-wealthy, old-monied family on his father's side. While his mother's family was not as well off after his father died, and she received a large inheritance, which she grew substantially on her own, she has assured her family is taken care of, too.

Tobias, Casey, and, later, their girls live quite well, and money concerns do not exist for them. So... there is no way in hell Casey's letting him keep this money! lol A good chunk would go to charity; perhaps they'd consider starting their own philanthropic foundation, and they'd likely use winning to expand their family practice to bring affordable healthcare to those who historically have been denied access.

I don't think they'd even let anyone but their closest confidants know that they won.
