okay here’s the deal

that worked very well I think

I love the movie but the first half wasn’t enthralling enough to keep me from editing but it did give me some nice fresh insight into my issues with this book

I got to a point where I have a vague plan what to do about the last few snarls in the draft and then everything started to go fuzzy when I looked at the words in my printout and I was like “woah okay I have to sleep on this”

but it was getting to the point (roundabouts the argument with the green jello painting versus sad fish man priorities) where it was definitely enthralling so then I just watched the movie and it was exquisite

okay my draft is due tomorrow and I have a full shift but it’s a closing shift so I have until 11:30 in the morning to get the rest of the draft hashed out

crossing my fingers that I’ll actually be able to sleep and get up at an hour where I’ll be able to get some writing in before 11:30

I have to rewrite one of my characters so that he’s in denial for the first half of his appearances and then mad about it for the second instead of like weirdly jolly and accepting

@xenoromance -- after coming back to tumblr a little under a month ago, i was honestly so relieved to find that luna was still here. it’s legit been like… 3 years since we actually talked. i missed luna a lot because she gave me such a happy and silly friendship and i always looked forward to talking to her. im glad we are rebuilding that now that im back!!! im also glad we have the same aesthetic (SPACE!!!) and that we’re back to talking again! i cant wait to see you someday when you visit me in NYC! or maybe i’ll go to Scotland someday??? c:

you have me thinking about star trek tos being crossed over with homestuck but like. meeting the alternian empire and how theyd fit in with all the treaties and what the interspecies relations would be. i think i might have to make this A Thing.

I have a Very Serious Headcanon that trolls were contacted by Vulcans in pre-Federation times, and that quite a lot of trolls (perhaps most) follow Surak’s philosophy. Hence this art.

I’m pretty sure there’s excellent reasons some of the trolls could have headed off with the Rihannsu too.

Also I have a Very Serious Headcanon that, like humans, Surakite vulcans have only one quadrant of romance. But where humans’ romance maps onto trolls’ flushed quadrant, vulcans’ romance maps onto the pale quadrant. (Secretly I want Sarek/Amanda fic about them negotiating their cultures’ different views on romance.)
