Completed S1 of The Apothecary diaries.
ANDDD OH MY GOD I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS SHOW.
The plot, the storyline, the characters, the concepts. I fucking love it all.
It has all the right amount of things.
The deductive stuff, the animation, the intellectual female lead who's not interested in the limelight, the obsession with her profession, the STORYLINE, the right amount of romance/intimacy.
EVERYTHING IS PERFECT.
It's like, i didn't even know I was looking for a show like this and i stumbled upon it and I found it and now I'm so mesmerized by it because all I want is for it to not end.
I found out there's a second season, but that it's currently being released. Meaning I'll have to wait for it to completely release before I can watch it all. AND IT'S ONLY 4 EPISODES YET😭😭😭😭😭.
But I'm also happy there are 24 episodes.
I WANT TO BINGE IT😭😭😭😭😭😭
It's seriously so goood.
I cannot explain it when I write this, but it's genuinely so so so good.
The stories, the mysteries, the connections.
And the Chinese culture through the Japanese art form has to be one of the most serene things I've seen. It's so beautiful. So so so beautiful.
The way the brothels are described, the way Maomao's past is slowly stretched out throughout the series making us understand everything at the right time. The districts, the words, the words oh my god. The words.
The rear palace and the brothels are really not so different..... beautiful gardens and cages.
THE WHOLE SERIES ALSO GAVE ME SUCH GHIBLI VIBES from time to time.
I'm not kidding. This show. It's so good.
It's like, it satisfies all the criteria in my mind, the mystery, the solving, the threatening actions in between, the romance/intimacy in the right amount, the obsession w her medicines/profession, the puzzling buildup, the way it is narrated, the way it's all shown.
AAAAH I LOVE IT
And the age gap between them is also chill, no weird stuff😭😭👍👍👍
Also the part where she tells them why she made freckles on her face....
EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SHOW.
I'm obsessed. I am so glad I watched it.
And I'm not over it. I wanna keep watching more of it.
Hopefully everything gets released fast fast, I can't wait😭😭😭
