5. Describe their cozy night in.
they do the mise en place together, usually from a recipe chris bookmarked while finding new ways to eat chicken and vegetables, and mika teases him about it while being helpful in the kitchen. once the stove goes on, usually one of them takes over: if chris does the cooking, mika will work on his music and chris will make supportive noises (meaningless since mika knows his man doesn't know a thing about edm). if it's mika, chris will read aloud to him from whatever book's loaded up on the kindle and mika will half-listen along, mostly just falling into the sound of his voice. sometimes chris will wear his reading glasses. (if there's a correlation btwn reading glasses and mika getting distracted and burning their dinner, they're both adult enough not to comment on it.) they'll mostly eat at the counter, unless one of them's in a mood, and sets the table and gets out the candles and the good dishes. there's little brushes of elbows, knees, ankles, throughout the dinner.
some nights mika will find a scandi drama to have playing in the background while they sip wine, and some nights they'll put on a game and chris will always root for guys they once played with, even if they're in the same conference, because he's chris. they'll end up drifting into each other on the couch, a hand on an ankle, a head on a shoulder, until chris will say, bed? and mika will nod. and mika will go first and chris will check the locks and appliances, tidy up things here and there, confirm their bags are by the door for the morning. and when he gets to their room, mika will be skimming on his phone, waiting for him so they can brush their teeth together.
some nights, chris will read a little more, and some nights, mika will lean into his space and carefully take off those glasses and kiss him on the mouth until chris' vision goes blurry with something so deep rooted that it feels like a heart.
10. Describe their first date.
there was no first date. there was spending all their time together, and learning to trust one another, and speaking each other's languages, and pushing each other to be better, and supporting one another, and being each other's guys, and then all of that becoming all of it.
