"Why are you even trying to get my attention, you think this'll get you some kind of reward from me?"
he scoffed, placing his cold hand on your forehead before pushing you away from his chest which you were once lying on. His words fell off his tongue oh so casually, as if he didn't even stop to think about how they affected you. How they made your eyes glossy, how tears threatened to spill if he said another word.
but you would never be his main priority, he doesnt feel sympathy for you, not one bit
the second your arms loosened around his neck, scaramouche took his chance to get up from the couch both of you were on to go back upstairs to his room, prefering to write reports and rude letters back to his subordinates. you swore you heard him let out the same annoyed sigh he always did whenever you were even near him. once you heard the door slam shut and the faint click of a lock, you simply sat there alone in the cold, living room. silence wasnt even enough to make you feel better
you dont know what changed, or what caused your relationship with him to change. scaramouche tolerated you often and didn't scold you as much when you shared mutual feelings before officially "dating". the first two weeks were nothing compared to now, how he simply ignores or avoids you every possible way. the only times he seems to interact with you are the times he needs you to stay quiet or do him a favor. to be fairly honest, the only reason he was with you now was to just feel in control of something
the next few days would be almost copies of the one before, him scolding or constantly insulting you for every little mistake, or every time you decided it was a good idea for you to touch him with such care. it would be rare if he didnt at least give you one glare when you hug or give him a small peck on his cheek.
"do you not realize that you're distracting me? know your place, and leave." he snapped, his gaze flickering towards you, practically telling you that him giving you a sharp glare was more than enough of a sign to leave him alone. you attempted to hug him, but you simply earned yourself a scolding rather than a pair of arms returning the favor.
