MLB x KOTLC AU (Fic WIP)
Many centuries ago, your mother and I were faithful members of the Order of the Elven Guardians. We were Emissaries of the highest caliber, and believed elves to be superior to humans in every way.
The Black Swan, a rebellion group of rogue elves that went against the Order, pulled away the wool covering our eyes. We saw the hurt, the pain, the darkness staining and corrupting the Order, twisting it away from its original purpose. We became the Black Swan's spies.
But the Black Swan were not the only rebels out there. There was another group, known as the Neverseen, and while the Black Swan wished to change the Order for the better, to help the planet and her residents, the Neverseen wanted to eradicate the Order entirely and rule over the planet using the Miraculous.
War broke out, between the three groups, and decimated the elven population. As other intelligent species took sides, members from all three groups began to flee, taking with them what Miraculous they had or stole. Your mother and I fled, too, with the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculous. But the Peacock was damaged.
We dared not try to find what elves remained, out of fear they would be Neverseen who wished to destroy us or members of the Order who despised us for acting as spies. As the centuries passed, we believed that the Black Swan hated us, too, for never even trying to seek them out.
Eventually, though, despite having each other, we felt alone. Life was monotone, and that's when your mother and I decided to have children. You. In case we perished, though we dreaded the thought, we decided to have multiple children so they would be siblings capable of looking after each other. We were especially ecstatic when you and Biana were twins-twins! How ironic, as twins were something elves once dreaded.
But right as we finally felt content, disaster struck. Do you recall the night your mother disappeared? There is much I haven't told you. The full details are in the next log. She came into your room that night and saw you about to die.
The Neverseen found us.
In order to defend you, your mother used the Peacock Miraculous and killed the Neverseen member. However, it was seconds too late-your body was cold on the floor. She fused you, with an amok in your heart, into something a mix of Sentimental and human with the purpose of life. But doing that, with a damaged Miraculous after already using it to defend you, was too much for her.
I admit to growing fearful, and even depressed in her absence. Out of fear for your new state, I had doctors on-site along with teachers. Del-your mother fell into a coma. I tried using the Butterfly to wake her but could not. Nooroo advised me, stating it was possible that if your mother was left for a few years without the damaged Miraculous, she might heal enough for the Butterfly to heal her.
But she didn't.
Not at first. The first few years, she got better. Then suddenly, her health began taking a sharp decline. I used the Butterfly often to try to ensure she kept her current state rather than worsen. It got to the stage where Nooroo told me regretfully the only thing capable of saving her was the restorative capability of the Ladybug.
So I prayed. I prayed that I could find the Ladybug Miraculous.
Then I realized.
The Ladybug can only heal if it takes part in the conflict itself. The only way for the Ladybug to be part of the conflict is for the wielder to rip the amok out of your heart and purify it.
I could not choose. Stars above how could I choose? How could I choose between my wife and son?
I could not. But the Ladybug and Black Cat, when combined, grant a single wish.
So I needed both. I needed something to draw out both and wish for the Ladybug to fix Della without killing you.
I am so sorry. The wish has a price of equality. But for your mother to return to this plane...I am willing to take that sacrifice. I created these logs for you and your siblings so, at least, you know what happened to me.
I love you, Fitz.
