Lumi's 2024 Wrap-Up

it feels only right that I should list my beloved work-in-progress longfic, i fear no fate (for you are my fate) at #1! this year, I wasn't able to write as much as I'd have liked to, but I still managed to publish two chapters and get around halfway through my next chapter, for a total of 26, 115 words of my two silly dragons falling hopelessly in love and getting into various time shenanigans. 🐉🐉

this year, I wrote my first ficlet! see, i've come to burn your kingdom down is a pre-ifnf story of How Elentari Bellefeuille Really Ruined The Dark Brotherhood's Day, and I had so much fun writing it! (I can't wait for something of this to show up in the main story...)

and I also wrote a ficlet, a new moon rises, in which my Nerevarine, Ilmarenya Ara'dayn, becomes something more than a mortal and less than a god and kisses Azura in the process.

next up is the first piece of art I created this year, which is this portrait of Elentari! I still really like this one!

last but not least, it's another piece of Elentari artwork, which I actually started in January and finished in October. gosh. you can see me trying a few new techniques there, getting a bit more comfortable with my style, and finally coming up with a design for her robes, and... welll, that's Future Lumi's problem if I have to draw them again, isn't it?

Observations:

The Sterek Fandom is a lot more active than the Ziam fandom, which totally breaks my heart.

Although I wrote 35 Sterek and only 9 Ziam fics (not counting the one that was both fandoms), I promise you all that I am absolutely not done with those British boys. I think the reason for so many Sterek fics (besides loving them madly) is that there are all of these wonderful events hosted for writers to keep us motivated.

I would not have made my goal without using 4thewords for motivation. I highly recommend checking it out. If you decide to sign up, you can use my referral code when you do ( LHZSI76524 ). I’m not sure what it will do for me, but it’s there so I’ll share it.

Goals for 2020:

Continue to write 500 words a day and post quarterly updates here (even if I’m the only one reading them).

Sterek Bingo 2018 (I’m not sure what else to call that)

Participate in as many writing events as I can

Write an original work for NaNo

Get rid of as many prompts as I can from my inbox.

Maybe host some kind of writing event for Ziams (if people are interested).

favorite fic you wrote this year Oh this is so, so hard. I think it might be Full Moon though, it holds a special place in my heart, it just does.

favorite line/scene you wrote this year Absolutely love this question but it really is so hard to choose. There is a little bit in As The Tide Pulls where Draco and Narcissa are having a conversation about Harry's illness and Narcissa says something along the lines of "You will get through this. You're a Black and we're crafty" and Draco has a moment when he thinks about how every single person in the Black family has died aside from the two of them and Andromeda and he's like "this is not as reassuring as you think it is" and I find something about that very amusing, especially in a fic that's otherwise so heavy.

a fic you didn’t expect to write Er. I just posted the first chapter of Descent, a fic I did not see coming. But if not that one, then probably one or two of the drabbles. I didn't expect that I would ever write Lily/Narcissa but I accidentally did in Among all the flowers.
