I originally got the seeds in a mysterious, unmarked bag the plant lady handed to me, saying 'they're short variety green beans.. probably'. There were many different little bags inside, each with different color seeds, all unmarked. I planted all of them. I wanted to see what they are. I mostly got the yellow green beans, I got a few of purple ones! However these yellow beans grew into pods that didn't seem edible, they had the 'unripe' texture about them, so I figured they must be dry beans. So I waited for them to dry out so I can have the beans. And now I have them, but I can't figure out what kind of dry bean is that? I tried to google yellow varieties of beans and none of them are even close to this neon yellow color, with brown-white eyes. (The white beans below are just regular green beans)
Is anyone else planting a garden and just getting these, mystery crops? Does this happen only when you plant stuff from unmarked bags vaguely handed to you? I still like them so much, pushing my hand into them and wriggling around is a sensory heaven. I'm going to cook them to see if they taste like regular beans.
