though obi-wan kenobi may not remember much of her except her deep,  rich voice,  oleanna kenobi was a fascinating woman who led a fascinating life. 

born on stewjon in 85 bby,  oleanna was the heir to house kenobi,  and an only child.  she grew quickly into her position as head of the house  —  upon her mother’s death she became the matriarch of house kenobi at the age of 16.  at 21,  well - established as a riveting politician,  she met and married sar-jan anjoi,  the youngest scion of the anjois,  two years her junior but her equal in debate.  their sharp minds were alike,  and sar-jan eventually was chosen for the position of earl of stewjon.

sar-jan ruled well with oleanna at his side,  and it was frequently said that stewjon had not one earl but two  —  he rarely made a decision without discussing it with his wife.  her keen eye for politics never diminished,  and the two of them brought prosperity to their people while keeping stewjon a carefully independent planet.

it took seven years for the pair to have a child.  their first and only child was loved above everything.  oleanna recovered from her harrowing pregnancy at the anjoi estate,  surrounded by adoring in - laws who were eager to see the next generation of their two houses. 

the jedi took obi-wan when he had just turned three.  oleanna,  though understanding her son’s greater destiny  ( she could swear she had seen a kind of sorrow in the boy’s eyes,  even as a baby )  never fully recovered from her loss. 

when sar-jan fell ill half a decade later,  serving his second term as earl of stewjon,  oleanna stepped in to rule in his stead until his term ended,  according to stewjoni custom.  there was no heir to replace them.  the noble line of kenobi would end with oleanna.

her son returned once to her,  a jedi master now,  shining with purpose.  she cannot resent the jedi.  her son,  though she grieves for him,  was loved as she loved him.
