One of the meanings of “Dharma” is righteousness. Another meaning of Dharma is “that which upholds”. So we could understand of Dharma, that which represents the “right” thing to do, not the right as per what others expect, not the right as per our preconditioned learnings, but the right which gives support to our true essence experienced through this human body. When I say I practice yoga, usually people associate it with something like this beautiful photo. And probably I contribute to some of this thinking by writing about my yoga experience and path using almost only photos of myself performing an Asana (but that’s a story for another post). Asana represents a small portion of my practice. From the almost 6 hours (around 4 in the morning plus 2 or sometimes more in the afternoon) I dedicate to what I call “my practice”, only 1’30” or maximum 1’45” are correspondent to Asana. So yes, I consider yoga and education to be my Dharma because that is what feels right for my spirit, is not about being passionate about it (which probably sometimes I am) but about something which sustains me. So, what is your Dharma? 📷👉🏽 photo by @fotosbyboca 💙 #dharma #yogapath #yogapractice #asana #natarajasana #svadhyaya #selfobservation #selfknowledge #yogaisequaninity #mayallbeingsbefree #luanafarayoga
