The yoga post. . The number one thing I label myself as is the hoagini... haha no. Typo. . I’ve been practicing yoga since 2002 and yet I haven’t posted one photo of myself doing yoga! Of course I’m unhappy, sometimes, about my recent weight gain, but since it’s part of my reality and I’m dedicated to reality at all costs I’d rather have a progress picture on here than none at all. Besides I felt a nudge from the universe. When I started studying Iyengar yoga in 2002 I was obese and I was fortunate enough to find an incredible yoga teacher that I worked with for 2 1/2 years who never shamed me or left me feeling judged...in fact the only person in the class judging me was me. Her name was Deb Gray and I send her blessings for the incredible teacher that she is. We’ve lost track over the years, she moved out of state but she provided so many things I needed: the discipline, the dedication and most important for me: continuous novelty, (besides the emotional safety zone) she always mixed it up, we always had some new poses to learn which I found incredibly compelling and motivating. My brain heart feelings and body were all engaged and nourished by her classes. Yoga practice has made so many other things in life possible. So here I am, in the first pic, in a pose I don’t normally do, so my standing leg isn’t straight, 2nd pic serious focus for liftoff and 3rd cracking up at myself for being so intense. I love yoga and yoga loves me. Haha. Blessings to you and may you find all that you need to love your body. . . #yoga #yogaforeveryone #yogapractice #standuptall #yogaimperfect #dream #dreamanddo #writersyoga #allbodiesaregoodbodies #allbodiesarebeautiful #allbodiesareyogabodies #writersofinstagram #writer #yogawriter #yogaartist #massyogini #mayoga #massachusettsyogi (at Springfield, Massachusetts)
