Must Do Yoga
Between an increase in training runs as the marathon quickly approaches, being sick nearly the entire month of January, and with a lot going on in the office, yoga has taken a bit of a backseat. And with that, I'm finding that running has become much more challenging as I'm missing the consistent stretching, lengthening, and breathing that comes with a yoga practice.
After my 11 mile run yesterday, this morning's 1 1/2 hour power yoga class at Yogis Anonymous kicked my butt. Seriously. To the point where I was cursing at myself for not being more consistent. And I know that cursing at yourself while in yoga is the exact opposite of what we're all there for! But I'm human, and at least I recognized that this was not the thought I should be having. :)
Today, on my mat, I came to the realization that I need to find a way to fit yoga back in as it's not only good for the body, but more importantly for the mind and soul. So there you have it. My new goal is to get back to practicing yoga at least 3 days a week.
Another challenge I'm considering is training for my first Tri. That challenge I'm still pondering...
