"Wait, please!" Your voice finally breaks the heavy silence between you two.
What possessed you to go chasing after them at 3 am, you will never know. A simple human like yourself should be safe at home. Countless creatures roam freely in the darkness that shallows all at night.
Yet you are standing her with them with.
"Why did you fol-" Before they finish their sentence you cut them off by cupping their face with your hands.
"You don't get to stumble into my home, say you can't be by my side, and then just leave!" Your voices raises like a crack of lighting in the distance.
"Do you love so much you thought would be easier?! Or is hate?"
They try to pull away from you, but your hands won't let go. With a deep breath, you take a step closer.
"Do you love me?" You repeat.
For a berif moment their shoulders loosen and their gaze softens at you.
yomi had always wanted a family. yearned for one, to create something he never had. it was his biggest dream, and what is life without chasing your dreams? having no goals? he wanted to fulfill his wishes.
the problem was– he was picky. he didn’t just wanna ‘settle down’ with some lousy woman and create a family with her, no. it needed to be perfect. his children, his wife, him. he had already made himself into the best version he could be in his eyes, he had his whole life to complete this task. now was the hard part, finding a suitable wife.
he couldn’t just push and bend a woman to his whim, forcing her to be perfect for him. he knew this. women were stubborn, and there was a certain extent to them that you could control. besides, genetics come into play too. his kids needed to be the best.
he spent most of his time searching, everywhere he went, always keeping an eye out for a woman that looked fit to be his wife. there were many beautiful women in the world, with features compatible to his. but after looking into them, learning about them, it was ultimate that they weren’t right for the sacred role.
he was convinced there was only one woman out there who could fulfill this dream of his, who could make his life perfect. give him a family. this woman was you. you were beautiful, obviously, you and him would make gorgeous children. that was the bare minimum he was looking for in a wife– his starting point.
he decided that you were his new target. he needed to know everything about you, without really interacting with you first. his ways were simple. most would call it stalking, a crime, but it was harmless! he just needed to get to know you. it was for your own good, really. it would benefit you in the end. he’d give you everything.
and besides, what you didn’t know couldn’t hurt you. he did his business meticulously, in ways that you’d never find out. he needed a smart wife, but not one that could outsmart him. the role of a wife wasn’t just for bearing children, anyways.
after several months, close to a year, he knew all there was to know about you, studying your daily routine, the layout of your house, getting his grimy hands on your medical records, et cetera. he also got to know your friends, your family, coworkers. without their knowledge. approving and disapproving of the people in your life. you never even knew who he was, never saw him stalking around you every second of the day, didn’t even knew he existed. he liked it that way.
he didn’t like to play games. didn’t wanna pretend for years that he didn’t already know you better than you knew yourself. once he decided that you would be his wife, bear his children, he needed you. and he was gonna get you.
yomi is the type of man to never treat the one he loves poorly. he kills, he tortures, he manipulates, but he'd never lay a finger on you but caressingly. treating you like the most delicate, fragile glass doll rather than a ragdoll — yomi never made you shed a tear. ever.

Yandere!Vampire Yomi x Doctor!Reader
The underground clinic reeked of blood and antiseptic. The patients that came here were the kind who couldn't afford a real doctor, or couldn't risk being seen by one.
Tonight was no different.
You had just finished stitching up a gang member’s stab wound when the door slammed open. A gust of cold night air swept through the room, snuffing out one of the candles. You barely had time to react before a figure stepped inside, dragging something, or someone, behind them.
Your grip tightened around your scalpel. "We're closed."
The intruder didn’t answer immediately. He shoved the half-conscious body onto a cot, his movements slow and deliberate. You barely caught a glimpse of sharp silver hair before his eyes—red, almost glowing, snapped to you.
"You’ll fix him." His voice was smooth, but there was no mistaking it for a request.
You frowned, moving cautiously toward the injured man. He was barely clinging to life, his throat torn open in a vicious wound that made your stomach churn.
It wasn’t a stab wound. It wasn’t even a slash. It was jagged, like something had ripped into him.
Your gaze flickered back to the man who brought him in. He didn’t seem concerned. If anything, he looked amused.
"You want him alive?" you asked, forcing your voice to stay even.
"Don’t care," he said lazily, sliding onto the edge of a counter like he had all the time in the world. "I just want to see what you do."
Who was this guy?
Still, you didn’t have the luxury of refusing. If this was some gang business, you didn’t want to get involved more than necessary. You moved quickly, grabbing supplies and getting to work. The man on the cot was barely responsive, but you were skilled, you could keep him alive if you worked fast enough.
The stranger watched.
Not just watched, studied you. His eyes trailed your movements, sharp and calculating, as if peeling apart every action, every breath you took. It was unsettling, but you ignored it, focusing on your work.
Minutes passed. Then an hour.
Finally, you tied off the last suture, wiping your bloody hands on a cloth. "He’ll live. Barely.
He gave you an applause.
You turned, scowling. "You find this funny?"
"No. I find you interesting."
He slid off the counter and took a step toward you. "What’s your name?"
You didn’t answer.
His smirk widened. "No need to be scared, doc. I just came to repay a debt."
You barely had time to process the words before he moved—too fast, too inhuman. Cold fingers curled around your chin, tilting your head up as his red eyes bore into yours.
"You saved someone important to me" he murmured. "That means you just became important to me, too."
Your pulse spiked. "I don’t need your gratitude."
"Oh?" His lips curled at the edges. "That’s a shame. Because now I’ve decided—"
He leaned in, breath ghosting against your ear.
"You belong to me."
-----
The next morning, you tried to convince yourself that last night had been a fluke. A strange, terrifying encounter, but one that would pass. People came and went in the underground clinic all the time. That man, Yomi, would forget about you and move on.
You almost believed it.
Until you stepped outside.
The street was too quiet. Usually, the morning rush of the lower districts was loud with merchants, pickpockets, and gangs moving in the alleys. But today? Empty. As if the city itself was holding its breath.
Something was wrong.
Then, just as you turned the corner
“Oh, doc. There you are.”
Your heart nearly stopped.
Yomi leaned lazily against a wall, silver hair catching the morning light, his usual smirk tugging at his lips. It was like he had been waiting for you.
Your grip tightened around the strap of your bag. “What do you want?”
He pushed off the wall, stepping closer at a leisurely pace. “Now, that’s a cold greeting. I thought we were acquainted now.”
You took a step back. He took another forward.
“Why are you here?”
His gaze flickered to the rooftops. A barely shift in his posture.
You turned sharply.
Two men lay sprawled across the alleyway. Unmoving. Blood pooled beneath their bodies, soaking into the cracks between the bricks.
You knew them. They were known for running extortion schemes—shaking down local businesses, especially ones that didn’t pay for protection.
Your protection.
“You—” Your voice caught in your throat. “Did you just...?”
Yomi hummed, tilting his head in mock curiosity. “Did I what?”
Your mouth went dry. “They were just petty criminals.”
“Petty criminals” he repeated, amused. “Petty criminals who had your clinic marked for their next round of fun.”
“That’s not your problem.”
Yomi sighed, shaking his head like you were missing something obvious. “You really don’t get it, do you?”
Before you could move, he was in front of you. You barely had time to react before his fingers curled around your wrist, his grip deceptively light.
“You’re mine now,” he murmured, almost fondly. “That means I handle problems before they reach you.”
“You don’t own me.”
He chuckled, low and knowing. “No? Then tell me, doc…”
He leaned in, lips close to your ear.
“Why do you look so afraid to walk away?”
You weren’t stupid. You knew that the moment you turned your back, he’d prove just how real his claim was. He’d already killed for you.
“Come on” Yomi murmured, his grip tightening slightly. “Let’s get breakfast. You’ll feel better after a warm meal.”
You had no choice but to follow.
-----
Yomi was clever. He didn’t drag you. He didn’t threaten you. He just smiled.
Led you through the streets at a casual pace, his grip on your wrist loose but present, as if daring you to pull away.
If you refused him, he wouldn’t get angry. He wouldn’t lash out.
He would simply remove whatever, or whoever stood in his way.
So you walked.
The city was waking up now, the eerie quiet fading into the usual morning bustle.
It felt so normal that you almost forgot who was beside you.
He guided you- gently, like a lover into a small teahouse at the edge of the district.
A woman behind the counter looked up, eyes widening at the sight of Yomi before she quickly turned and vanished into the back.
Fear. You saw it in her eyes.
Just who was he to make people react like that?
Yomi chose a table by the window, gesturing for you to sit. You hesitated a second too long.
His fingers brushed your lower back “Sit” he said, voice soft.
You sat.
A moment later, tea and a full meal appeared before you. Sliced meat over warm rice, crisp vegetables, and a perfectly golden egg.
Your stomach growled.
You cursed under your breath.
Yomi’s smirk was immediate. “Go on,” he murmured, resting his chin on his palm. “You need to keep your strength up.”
You picked up your chopsticks and took a bite.
Yomi watched you with amusement, swirling his tea before taking a slow sip. He hadn’t touched his food at all.
The silence stretched.
“Why are you doing this?” You finally set down your chopsticks.
He raised a brow. “What? Feeding you?”
“Following me” you snapped. “Acting like...like I’m yours.”
Yomi’s smile didn’t fade, but something in his eyes sharpened.
“You really don’t understand, do you?” he mused. “That’s alright. You’ll learn soon enough.”
Your fingers curled into fists beneath the table. “I don’t need you.”
Yomi chuckled. “No, doc. You don’t have a choice.”
He reached forward, plucking a stray grain of rice from the corner of your mouth with his hand.
His eyes flickered with something unreadable as he brought his finger to his lips, slowly, deliberately—before licking it off.
He grinned, fangs glinting in the morning light.
“Keep eating,” he murmured. “You’ll need your energy for later.”
For what?
You didn’t dare ask.
But something told you that whatever came next
It wouldn’t be pleasant.
-----
If Yomi wanted you to be afraid, he was going to be disappointed.
You weren’t a fool, you knew you had no real way of escaping him. But if he thought you were going to willingly play into whatever twisted game he had planned, he had another thing coming.
So you tested him.
Little things at first.
You let your chopsticks clatter against the plate a little too loudly. You wiped your mouth with the sleeve of your coat instead of the napkin he so graciously provided. You stared at him with barely concealed irritation.
None of it worked.
He took everything in stride, smirking at you like a cat watching a mouse throw a tantrum.
So you pushed further.
When he reached for your tea to refill it, you “accidentally” knocked the pot over, spilling hot liquid across his hand.
“Oops” you said flatly.
For the first time, Yomi’s smirk faltered.
It was brief, so brief you might have imagined it.
“Hah,” he chuckled, shaking the scalding tea from his fingers. “That one had a little bite to it, doc.”
You had hoped for a crack in his demeanor, some sign that you could actually get under his skin. Instead, he looked… amused.
Still, your petty victory was short-lived.
Because when he moved, it wasn’t to retaliate.
It was to stand up and leave the shop.
Had he actually given up?
Then you noticed the way he flexed his hand, the faint hint of red where the tea had burned him.
Guilt pricked at your chest before you could stop it.
Damn it.
You shoved back your chair and followed him outside. “Wait.”
Yomi paused but didn’t turn. “Yes?”
You sighed, rubbing a hand over your face. “Let me bandage it.”
That got his attention. He turned his head slightly. Something in his eyes glowed with interest.
“You hurt me on purpose” he pointed out.
You crossed your arms. “And now I’m fixing it.”
For a moment, he just looked at you.
Then—he held out his hand.
You took it before you could second-guess yourself, pulling him toward a nearby alley for privacy. The streets were too crowded now, and the last thing you needed was an audience.
Digging into your bag, you pulled out a small roll of bandages. You had done this a thousand times before—clean, wrap, secure.
But as soon as your fingers brushed against his skin, you realized the redness was already fading.
Within seconds, his skin knitted itself back together, smooth and unblemished as if it had never been burned at all.
Your breath hitched. “What the hell—”
Yomi tilted his head, watching your reaction “Fascinating, isn’t it?”
You swallowed hard. “That’s not normal.”
His lips curved. “Neither am I.”
You knew he was dangerous, but this? This was something else.
“You look surprised,” he murmured, grabbing your wrist. “Did you really think I’d be so… fragile?”
Your throat was dry. “Let go.”
Instead of answering, he lifted your hand—until your palm was level with his lips.
His tongue flicked out, tracing along the faint cut where you had nicked yourself earlier while treating his burn.
You jolted, a sharp gasp escaping before you could stop it.
Then—pain. The sharp, precise, piercing kind.
“Ah—!”
Fangs sank into your wrist, not deep enough to maim, but enough to send a shock of sensation straight through your body.
Yomi groaned softly against your wrist, his grip tightening just enough to keep you still.
“You taste better than I expected” he murmured against your skin. “Sweeter.”
Your knees nearly buckled. “Let—go—”
His fangs retracted, lips lingering against your pulse as if considering whether to take another bite.
Then—he sighed, releasing your wrist with an almost regretful expression.
Your breath came in short, uneven gasps.
Yomi licked the last trace of crimson from his lips and grinned.
“Now we’re even” he murmured.
You had to get away from him.
Before he decided you were his favorite meal.
You ran.
The second Yomi let go of your wrist, you twisted away, shoving him back with all your strength before bolting down the alley.
You didn’t care where you were going, only that you had to get away.
Your pulse pounded in your ears, drowning out the city’s noise. Your legs burned as you weaved through narrow streets, turning blindly at every corner, hoping that you could lose him.
“Tsk.”
Before you could react, something cold snaked around your waist—an arm, firm and unyielding, yanking you back against a solid chest.
“That wasn’t very nice, doc” Yomi murmured against your ear.
Panic surged through you as you struggled, kicking and twisting in his grip. “Let go!”
He sighed, as if you were being difficult on purpose. “Did you really think you could run from me?”
You gasped as his grip tightened “You—”. You sucked in a breath, heart hammering. “You’re fast.”
Yomi laughed, the sound rich with amusement. “Of course I am.”
He knocked you out. One second, you were in the alley, the next, you were somewhere else entirely.
A rooftop.
You stumbled, barely catching yourself before you fell. Wind rushed past, carrying the scent of incense and distant food stalls. The city stretched below, too high to jump, too exposed to hide.
You turned to face him. “What do you want from me?”
Yomi regarded you with something almost fond, head tilted as if considering his next words.
“I already told you,” he said simply. “I want you.”
Your blood ran cold.
“Why?”
Yomi stepped closer, so you stepped back—but there was nowhere to go.
“Because,” he murmured, reaching out to brush a stray lock of hair from your face, “you belong to me now.”
Your breath hitched. “I don’t—”
“Shh.” His finger pressed lightly against your lips. “Don’t fight it, doc. You’ll only make this harder on yourself.”
“You can’t keep me here.”
His smile deepened. “Can’t I?”
Before you could move, his hand gripped your chin, gently, but with an unmistakable warning.
“You’re mine now,” he murmured, thumb brushing over your lower lip. “And I take care of what’s mine.”
You trembled. “You’re insane.”
Yomi chuckled, leaning in just enough for his breath to ghost over your skin. “Maybe.”
The rain outside was heavy, and would be calming, that is if you weren't currently on your deathbed.
You were buried under a mountain of heavy silk blankets on yomi's futon somehow still shivering and over exaggerating your sickness.
"...This...is it..." you rasped, letting your head fall back and your hand falling limp against your forehead. "The fever has reached my brain... My organs will shut down soon, it was nice knowing you yomi..."
A soft chuckle echoed from the edge of the mat. Yomi was sitting on his knees beside you, completely unbothered by the late- or early hour. His messy light gray/silver hair caught the warm glow of a nearby paper lantern.
"Is that so?" he murmured softly, his red eyes crinkled with fondness as he looked down at you. He didn't look worried at all, instead, he looked like he was watching some highly entertaining street performance. "Truly tragic. And here I thought it was just a common seasonal cold."
"Don't minimize my final moments," you snap at him, before weakly reaching out to grab the sleeve of his dark shirt. "I have one last request..." you let out a nasty cough. "Promise me... promise me you won't get another girlfriend after I pass. Leave my side of the futon empty...forever."
Yomi’s smile widened, a low hum vibrating in his chest as he took your limp hand in his pale, cool fingers. He lifted your hand and gently pressed the back of it against his cheek, entirely indulging your antics.
"How deeply possessive of you, even on your deathbed," he teased gently, his voice low and steady. "Don't worry, my love. I could never replace such a wonderfully dramatic creature. The seat beside me belongs entirely to you, in this life or the next."
He gently laid your hand back down and reached for a small amber glass bottle he had bought from an apothecary down the block. He poured a dark, steaming liquid into a small ceramic bowl.
"But since I'm not quite ready to let you go," Yomi continued, his hand sliding behind your neck to gently lift your head from the pillow, "you're going to have to drink this. All of it."
"It smells like dirt," you complained, wrinkling your nose as it was in front of your face. "Just let me die peacefully."
"Now, now," he coaxed, a perfectly serene, unwavering smile on his face as he held the bowl to your lips. "Be a good patient. Drink your medicine, and if you survive the night, I'll walk down to the market and buy you those sweet strawberry pastries you like tomorrow morning. Deal?"
Your head perks up as if you'd been brought back from the dead. "Deal!"

⤷ DINNER is a quiet affair.
Not silent—there's too many of them for that, too many young voices and older ones, too many half-formed thoughts spilling out between bites of food. But quiet in the way that matters. In the sense that nothing wrong’s happening.
You sit at his right hand, as you always do.
The others fill the long table in descending order, not by rank—he's never been interested in such hierarchies—but by some invisible principle that you seem to understand instinctively. The ones who need proximity sit closer. The ones who need space sit farther. No one questions it. No one even seems to notice.
Yoru sits across from you, watchful as always, his dark eyes moving between Yomi and the younger members with that focus he can't quite hide. When he catches Yomi looking, he doesn't look away. He simply inclines his head, a small acknowledgment, and returns to his meal.
He worries about you most, you'd said.
Yomi files this information away for later consideration.
The conversation flows around him—someone's training progress, someone's minor injury, someone's discovery in the city that might be worth investigating. He listens without seeming to listen, his red-ringed eyes half-lidded, his chopsticks moving with a sort of mechanical precision.
You, beside him, say almost nothing.
But when one of the younger ones—a girl with nervous hands and a tendency to speak too quickly—stumbles over her words, you reach out and touch her wrist. Just once. Just briefly.
The girl exhales. Slows down. Finishes her thought.
Yomi watches this exchange from the corner of his eye, and something in his chest does that thing again. That warmth. That impossible, inexplicable warmth.
After dinner, the household scatters to their various duties and distractions. Dishes are washed. Hallways are patrolled. The young ones are herded toward sleep by older siblings who remember being herded themselves, not so long ago.
You and Yomi retire to your quarters.
The room is dark when he enters—you prefer it that way, and he's never disagreed—but he can see you perfectly, his blood-red eyes adjusting to the dimness with inhuman ease. You're sitting on the edge of the bed, unlacing your shoes with unhurried movements.
He stands in the doorway and watches.
"What?" you ask without looking up.
"Nothing."
"You're staring."
"I'm observing."
Your hands pause on the laces. You lift your head, and in the darkness, your eyes meet his.
Yomi crosses the room.
He doesn't sit beside you. Instead, he kneels in front of you, his pale hands reaching for yours, gently pushing your fingers aside so he can finish unlacing your shoes himself. The gesture is intimate in a way that would feel excessive if anyone else attempted it. From him, it just feels... right.
You let him.
When both shoes are removed and set aside, Yomi looks up at you. His white fringe falls across his forehead, his heavy lashes casting shadows over his red-ringed eyes. In this light, he looks almost human.
Almost.
"Thank you," you say.
"For the shoes?"
"For today."
He tilts his head. "What did I do today?"
"Nothing," you say, and there's that almost-smile again, that small private thing that belongs only to him. "That's the point."
Yomi considers this. Considers the shape of the day behind him—the morning tea, the garden, the dinner, the quiet spaces in between. Considers how much of it was spent simply being, rather than doing.
"I'm not accustomed to doing nothing," he admits.
"I know."
"It feels..."
"Inefficient?"
He pauses. "No. Not inefficient. Just... unfamiliar."
You reach down and touch his face—your palm cool against his cheek, your thumb brushing a fallen white lash off the corner of his eye. The gesture is casual, almost absentminded, but Yomi feels it.
"You'll get used to it," you say.
"Will I?"
"Yes."
And there's no hesitation in your voice. No doubt. Just that calm, composed certainty that drew him to you in the first place, that keeps him tethered to this life instead of drifting back into the shadows where he belongs.
Yomi turns his head and presses his lips to your palm.
"When did you become necessary?" he asks, and the question is not rhetorical. He genuinely wants to know. He genuinely cannot remember a time when your presence in his life was optional.
You pull your hand back, but gently. "I've always been necessary," you say. "You just didn't know it yet."
Then you stand, cross to the other side of the bed, and lie down without waiting for him to respond.
Yomi remains kneeling for a long moment.
Then he stands, extinguishes the lamp you didn't bother to light, and lies down beside you in the darkness.
You're already facing him again, just as you were this morning. Your hand rests on the space between you, palm-up, as if waiting.
He takes it.
His pale fingers lace through yours in the darkness and he feels your thumb move against his knuckles in a slow, soothing rhythm.
"Yomi," you say.
"Yes?"
"Stop thinking."
He almost laughs. Almost. "You can't possibly know that I'm thinking."
"I can feel it. You're tense."
"I'm always tense."
"No." Your hand squeezes his. "You're always composed. There's a difference. Right now, you're tense. Which means you're thinking about something you don't want to think about."
Yomi is silent.
He is thinking. About the compound. About the future. About the Maga he's created and the ones he's lost and the ones who might still be saved. About Yoru's watchful eyes and the boy's nervous hands and the girl who talks too quickly. About all the threads of blood and duty and obligation that bind him to this strange, violent, beautiful family.
But most of all, he's thinking about you.
About how you fit into all of this. About how you've made yourself essential without ever demanding to be. About how the compound would keep functioning if you left—but it would be different in a way that makes it Colder. Less stable.
Less.
"You're doing it again," you murmur.
"Doing what?"
"Thinking."
"Perhaps," Yomi says, and his voice is soft in the darkness, softer than anyone else ever hears, "I'm allowed to think."
"Not at bedtime."
"You're very bossy for someone who claims not to manage me."
"I don't claim anything. I simply am."
And that's true. That's the heart of it, isn't it? You don't try to be anything. You simply exist and the world adjusts around you.
Yomi pulls your hand to his chest and holds it there, against his heartbeat.
It’s steady, but it beats faster when you're near.
You must feel it—you must—but you don't mention it. You simply shift closer, close enough that your breath ghosts across his throat, close enough that he can feel the warmth of you through the layers of fabric between you.
"Goodnight, Yomi," you say.
He does not respond immediately.
Instead, he considers you in the darkness—the shape of your shoulders, the fall of your hair against the pillow, the quiet rise and fall of your chest. He considers the day behind you both, the small intimacies, the way you had touched the girl's wrist and calmed her without a single word.
He considers, too, the thing he has never quite learned to name. The thing that lives in his chest when you are near. The thing that makes the blood in his veins feel less like a weapon and more like a promise.
Then he moves.
His arm slides over your waist, gentle but certain, and he pulls you against him—not roughly, never roughly, but with the quiet authority of someone who has decided that this is where you belong. Your chest meets his chest. His chin rests above your head, his breath stirring your hair. His arm around your waist is loose enough to allow movement, but firm enough to make his intention clear.
You are not going anywhere.
Not tonight.
Not ever, if he has any say in it.
"Oh," you say, and there is something in your voice that might be surprise, if surprise looked that restrained on you. "Yomi."
"Hm?"
"You're... holding me."
"I am observing," he murmurs against your hair, "that you are warm."
You paused. "Is that so,” it was so quiet he could’ve missed it.
"It is."
Another pause. Longer this time. Yomi feels your hand find his where it rests on your stomach, feels your fingers interlace with his, feels the slow exhale that leaves your body as you relax into him.
"You could have just said you wanted to cuddle," you tell him.
"I do not cuddle."
"You are currently cuddling."
"I am retaining heat."
"In a room that isn't cold."
Yomi's lips brush the back of your head—whether by accident or design, even he is not certain. "You argue too much."
"Someone has to," you say, echoing your own words from the garden, and he can hear the almost-smile in your voice.
He doesn’t respond. He doesn’t need to.
Instead, he closes his eyes and lets himself feel you—the weight of you against his chest, the warmth of your hand in his, the steady rhythm of your breathing slowly aligning with his own. The compound hums around him, distant and familiar, all those threads of his blood tucked into their beds.
But you’re here.
And for the first time all day, Yomi's shoulders truly relax.
"Goodnight," you whisper, and your thumb traces small circles on the back of his hand.
"Goodnight," he replies.
And in the darkness, with you pulled close against his chest and your presence filling all the empty spaces in his heart, Yomi closes his eyes and does what you asked.
He stops thinking.
A/N: I hope you like it and I hope this is what you were looking for !! <3
Can I have yandere headcannons for Kurama, Yoko Kurama, Hiei, Yusuke, Kuwabara, Mukuro, Sensui, Shizuru, and Yomi from Yu Yu Hakusho? The s/o is gender neutral.
A little note here. As Mukuro and Yomi live in the demon world I personally wrote their Hc's in mind with an s/o who is also a demon and lives there.
👈Yusuke grew up in a neglectful environment with a mother more drunk than present and a father figure gone before he even took his first breath. Through no fault of his the life he has been given has shaped him into what others usually call a "delinquent". He's impulsive, he's cocky and he loves a good brawl. What this all essentially means is that he isn't going to be the most polite person you are going to meet and his first impression his horrendeous. You probably bump into him whilst he is in the middle of a fist fight and the moment his eyes land on you he merely lets out a low whistle before continuing to pound his knuckles into someone's face. Yusuke never had the luxury of growing up around trustworthy people so even as he cat-calls you and flirts with you when he has the chance, initially he never has much plans to ever be serious which you sense and in return don't take him serious either. It takes quite a lot of trust and the necessary time before Yusuke starts looking at you through a different lense and even more before he even acknowledges that his feelings for you are serious. That in itself is unnerving as Yusuke has never done 'serious' before.
👈Quite notably though as a Spirit Detective who has fought evil spirits and defended humanity against malicious forces, Yusuke is protective of you. That is going to be a prominent trait in all scenarious but especially if you are a mere human with no kin to even sense what might be flying around, he is going to be all the more protective of you. That means that he often happens to hang around you though not in an attached-to-your-hips way. He's just casually strolling behind you, pretending to be all nonchalant as he whistles and trails after you. He's doing a shitty job at hiding but perhaps that is never the main goal he goes for. What are you going to do to stop him though, huh? Being a bit of a possessive jerk is definitely also on the list for Yusuke. He's terrible when it concerns regulating his emotions as his patience has a short fuse. When he sees a guy hanging around you too closely he has little to no shame to walk over and casually swing an arm around your shoulder. He doesn't like people being too close to you but he is not yet ready to admit that the reason for it is because he loves you. Instead he probably makes himself quite unlikable in your eyes.
👈As previously mentioned, Yusuke is not one to hide when something bothers him. That doesn't mean that he gets jealous easily though. He isn't that insecure about stuff or himself and since most people really only require one good beating to dash away like dogs with tails tugged between legs, he believes that most would be too much of cowards to ever be good enough for you in the long run. Whether he thinks that an impulsive hothead like him is more suited or not will be left up to question but at the very last this lack of immediate jealousy is one positive aspect on Yusuke during the earlier stages. Now, if someone does seem to be more bold with you though, that requires some interference in his mind. He just joins like he has always been part of it all only to end up pushing the other party away. Either by being a jerk or by throwing some threats around. My guess would be that it is a mixture of both as he is all for a fight the moment he knows that he has made the other person mad. He's confident when it comes to brawling but is most likely miffed when you get mad and accuse him for only knowing how to use his fists and nothing else.
👈As much as Yusuke loves fighting, he isn't actively going for the kill most of the times. That isn't in his nature as much as others might want to believe that from him. He just loves a good fight. When something or someone is on the line that fun partially blurs though as the priority is another one. Generally speaking though, Yusuke has no problem beating up people for you. However, there is a noticable difference in how he beats people up, as weird as that may sound. When he has an issue with someone he roughens them up good so that they may never forget not to piss him off by getting to close to you. When there is more involved than just a silly grudge though and that person has actively harmed you, Yusuke switches up the rhythm of his fists. That's when it becomes a matter of protection and when it comes to protecting those he loves, Yusuke has always been serious. Evildoers have to be punished and that's when bones will be broken and people will either land in the hospital or, if they are of the more supernatural kind, will be left in a puddle of blood on the ground. So whilst he isn't trying to kill, he can if things have gone too far. Especially in demon form.
👈His morales are questionable but they are still there despite everything. Now, being very protective means that he can cross lines when the situation gets too risky. As a Spirit Detective this is part of the duty after all and whilst you may not know it, he has fought a lot throughout his life and he has seen what humans and demons alike are capable of. Whilst demons may appear to be the greater force of evil and most of the time still are, Yusuke can also be surprisingly wary when under humans. The thing is that it takes him so incredibly long to offer an explanation to why he does the things he does which doesn't explain or excuse all but gives context to some of his actions. Because all you see most of the times is an asshole suddenly grabbing you and dragging you away from wherever you are going. He doesn't react well to too much protest in such situations and might end up yelling at you to shut up and that you have no idea what's going on. He doesn't mean it but sometimes his nerves get the better of him when he is under a lot of stress. He feels sorry but is too proud and defensive to admit that he is sorry for a longer while. He owes you a lot of apologies but you only receive them much later.
👈The relationship is quite rocky unless you haven't known him since childhood as then Yusuke indeed is the textbook definition of the delinquent who is violent and a jerk. When you talk to him, his eyes sometimes land on something that isn't your face and you are keenly aware of the way he stares at your ass when you turn around. Judging from the grin he gives you, he finds it funny. You really don't. But then there are moments where he walks around bruised and the next day you find out that someone who insulted you or tormented you has been ambushed and avoids you from that day on. You don't condone the violence but you do recognise that it is his way of letting you know that he worries and cares. It takes so long before he finally admits his feelings for you though. It's not flashy nor romantic. It's simple and awkward which makes it all the more honest as Yusuke doesn't offer vulnerability easily to even his friends. Does he ever grow fully out of that pervy, impatient and brawl-happy attitude of his? No, most likely not. But he does mature quite a bit which leads to more positive attributes and the ability to not make you mad all the time when he hangs around.
Kuwabara Kazuma
⚔️Kuwabara may initially fool you with his appearance and the rumors that you hear from other people. He isn't the most friendly-looking man after all. Yet funnily enough all it takes for him to fall head over heel is when you one day catch him after a fight that didn't go too well and bandage the cuts and bruises to the best of your abilities. His face goes completely red, there is steam coming out of his eyes and words fail him. You are pretty sure that he says something about "angel" and "goddess" but you never get the chance to ask him to repeat himself. Not when he jumps up as if he has been struck by lightning, repeatedly expresses his deepest gratitude before running off into the distance. It definitely changes the image that you had previously cultivated in your own mind about him. Who would have thought that someone as tough-looking as Kuwabara Kazuma would turn out to be such an adorable dork? For Kazuma though things change completely after that day. He is struck, the arrows of Cupid raining down on him and never stopping. It is love at first sight for him and from that day on he decides to fight for your love and to always protect you.
⚔️Whilst he may very well be considered the weakest member of his team consisting of him, Yusuke, Hiei and Kurama, that has never been excuse enough for him to stop working hard. In fact he is arguably the most persistent one of all of them as he never gives up even if things look hopeless. That stubbornness is definitely reflected in the ways he starts orbiting around you from that day on. Differently from Yusuke though he manages to make you not mind it as he is more mindful and kind with it all. His feelings are obvious from the first moment you bump into him again and he hands you flowers he has probably plucked out of some garden he found. Whether that was allowed or not, you still don't know. As someone who is capable of seeing ghosts and has fought a lot of tough battles coupled with him just naturally being that way, Kuwabara is inclined to be more protective of you. He takes offense on your behalf most of the time when people are being dismissive or disrespectful and immediately dashes to the rescue when evil spirits are around. Completely led by his feelings, it is likely that he isn't aware to what extent his love with you even goes.
⚔️Where Yusuke is surprisingly more cool-headed despite being also very impatient, Kuawabara is the one who takes the role of having no patience at all. Where Yusuke is being a jerk though, Kuwabara still has the more sensible approach, though arguably also the louder one. In fact some heads most likely turn around to stare when he gets involved and it is always you who has to beg him to keep his tone down. He's not a fan to see when others get all cozy with you though he is surprisingly intuitive enough to distinguish platonic affection from a romantic one. Generally speaking though he gets very competitive when there is someone who seems to intend to be his rival when it comes to your affection and as if this is a duel between two knights of honor he accepts the challenge quietly and leaves the other person confused behind for they have no idea what he was just talking about. If they make you laugh, he tries to do so even harder by telling a couple of bad jokes and if they gift you something he tries to make something with the money he has too. It may end up being a mess but he put in the effort and sometimes that counts more. When something doesn't turn out the way he wanted too, he tries again.
⚔️A delinquent too, Kuwabara is still less brutal with it all. Yusuke is all about offense whilst he is more about defense. In his mind a good offense starts with a strong defense and if he knows that you don't condone violence and are around when he gets in a fight he usually takes more fists than he hands out. He's tough so he can endure it all quite well. What is undeniable though is that Kuwabara is a man who would do anything to protect those he loves so whilst he may have a kind heart despite it all, he won't hesitate to fight and hand out damage when you are in danger. Credit where it is given though, he starts trying to negotiate with people before he resorts to a good old brawl. If someone just leaves you alone if they should bother you or owns up for something that they have done then Kuwabara doesn't have any reason to start a fight with them. When someone doesn't own up for it though and is disrespectful enough to mock you or to belittle you, fists start flying fast. Composure breaks the moment someone talks badly about you and it can make him a bit too short-sighted and reckless in certain fights. He never backs down though even when he is bleeding from all places.
⚔️His older sister would murder him and bury him six feet under if he were to ever abduct you. She likes you a lot after all. Even without the fear he has of his older sister when she gets mad though, Kazuma himself never considers that even something he should ever plan. Working an arguably the greatest codex of honor from all, he would never lock you away forever. Whilst he may sometimes like to see himself as your knight in shining armor, you aren't going to be the princess locked away in the tower which he has to protect. You are going to be the princess that walks freely around whilst he fends off all those who might intend to bring harm your way. As someone of protective nature even Kuwabara isn't immune to short outbursts of course where he might temporarily lock you away or hide you somewhere when things get dangerous or when someone is after you. Otherwise though he lets you walks wherever you want to whilst he is following like he is the eternally loyal guard dog of yours who growls as soon as someone gets too close but only bites when a threat is real. So freedom is the most achievable goal when he is the one obsessed with you though he can be a bit clingy at times.
⚔️Shizuo likes you a lot. Her brother can be a very hotheaded idiot at times but she still cares a lot for him and it is really not hard to see that he has got it bad for you. She pretty much knew that he had met someone special when he walked through the door of their home one day with a dreamy look of awe on his face. She is probably also the one who helps him a lot. Not that Kuwabara thinks that he needs help as he wants to woo you with his own charm and effort but Shizuo forces him to accept her help and so she finds herself helping to style him up during the first few dates he has with you. As soon as you are his girlfriend though he walks next to you with his chest puffed out and gesturing to everyone he knows that you are his girlfriend. He's such a simp that it's almost pathetic and someone like Hiei ends up threatening to slit his throat if he doesn't stop those endless ramblings of you. Kazuma is also your number 1 cheerleader. When you pursue your dreams or have important exams coming around he is always there for you and even tries to help you as good as he can even if he has not a single clue of the subject to begin with. He just wants to do his best to support.
Kurama
🌹Behind the prettiest face of all hides the one who is arguably most calculating and analytical of all. His real identity is most definitely a secret to you as you only know Kurama under his human name Shuichi. A boy who is handsome, quiet and very polite but not the most social butterly which you decide to respect. So you never push Shuichi the way some other girls do. What you are not aware of at that time is that he has very much already started noticing you and is watching you though you may not know of it. Feelings are blossoming in ways Kurama hasn't anticipated but differently from others he isn't one who blindly storms into action without a plan at hand. He likes to retain information before he comes up with a suitable strategy and the same pattern is followed with you. He doesn't know how to deal with the feelings within his chest and since he doesn't understand, he decides that any action would be unwise. So he takes a few steps back and observes sharply from the distance and at one point he even starts following you without your knowledge and stalks you from the rooftops. You never notice. Of course you don't. He doesn't let you.
🌹I'd say that Kurama is able to see beyond his feelings and realise when emotions start withering into something that isn't as pretty as the face he has anymore. The more information he gathers, the more he wants. He doesn't need too though and that is when he enters the territory of greed and selfishness and he knows that. Things start to take a course of action he didn't anticipate and so he has to re-calculate his entire plan all over again as otherwise things could get dangerous. Not for him. But for you. He takes quietly care of all sorts of evil spirits that lurk too close to you, the silent guardian with his thorn whip who never lets you figure out that there was something going on in the first place. Looks deceive and Kurama slowly starts to take advantage of that. You don't suspect much when Shuichi approaches you though it does surprise you just a bit. But he is far too kind and polite for you to ever doubt him much which allows Kurama to subtly manipulate you whenever he needs to. For now he cannot admit the truth to you yet. Not when he himself still needs to figure out his own feelings for you. But he also feels too uneasy now to not have some loose hold over you.
🌹He isn't jealous. He isn't exactly doing sommersaults either. Like always, Kurama just analyses. From the moment he becomes more aware that his feelings are blooming into something he cannot quite control like he is used to, he starts observing your surroundings and all the people in your life far more closely too. He categorises, probably has a mental list of people he can let you be alone with and individuals that he doesn't quite trust you with. Whether because he knows that they are only using you or because they actually like you is of a different topi. Whenever there is someone with you he doesn't know he ends up essentially creating a whole profile of them before he makes up his mind. Jealousy though is something that he really would like to remain above as he has seen how some humans act when jealous and it is far too ridiculous for him to fall down to the same level. He may be more humble or at least pretend to be but Kurama still has his pride after all. So he is never all threats, smugness or yells when he is jealous. It is about targeting the little cracks and insecurities when someone actually gets under his skin by charming you too much. He is not without possessiveness.
🌹As the one who is the greatest strategist and the one who analyses most from his entire team, Kurama isn't like Yusuke or Kuwabara who end up brawling when things get a little bit tough. He thinks stuff through and often puts emotions back in favor of letting logic take its course rather than running fueled on feelings. He already keeps out a sharper eye for all sorts of creatures and beings he considers more dangerous for you, whether they be human or demon. There are categories for different kinds of threats and according to the level of danger he believes them to carry, he is willing to put in the necessary force to keep them at bay. Whilst not someone who murders for the fun of it, Kurama is thorough though. If any life threat should ever be there then he is prepared to neutralise the danger before it gets as far as hurting you and putting your life at risk. But he isn't sadistic about it nor does he play with his victims. He is just swift and efficient which is in its own ways terrifying enough. The guilt he feels after is very minimal though as he does ultimately only view them as potential threat that he got rid off to prevent anything from happening.
🌹Whilst Kurama technically does live in the human realm now, I do like to believe that he has a separate hideout besides a normal house where also spends a lot of time in, especially when he needs to be Kurama and not Shuichi. As someone who thinks ahead he slowly does start to add stuff to this hideout of his in an emergency case where he needs to keep you there. There are elaborate plans to avoid something like this though as that would be the final crack needed where you would start to truly doubt him and suspect that he isn't quite normal. In that aspect Kurama is rather considerate but that doesn't mean that he will hesitate every greatly if push should ever come to shove. If something needs to be done in order to keep you safe then it will be done even if it is against what you want. Here to the excuse that you don't understand the world the same way he does comes once again as rather valid. You only see a part of the world whereas Kurama sees it all and for that all the risks and the creatures that come with it. Not all of them are as kind as he is, you know? Would an abduction ever be permanent? Probably not but the moment you know who he truly is, you are watched closer.
🌹Remember, a pretty face is always deceiving and that is true in Kurama's case just as much. He is the most manipulative out of the entire team but he is very good with it as he thinks several steps ahead. He rarely loses his composure, especially in front of you and all that polite and charming behavior starts to be frustrating with time, especially if you are the type who lashes out more easily. After all if he stays calm whilst you don't, you end up feeling like an immature child throwing a tantrum in front of an adult and that is indeed sometimes the vibe it gives. If he needs to restrain you, he usually resorts to using his vines to tie you up and keep you in place. They have no thorns though as to not harm you, he always makes sure of it. As a Yokai who has grown up in the human realm though, Kurama isn't completely out of touch. He knows how to navigate both worlds and understands for that also understands that he shouldn't rip you out of the environment you are most familiar with all to satiate his own selfishness. He goes most likely for a good arrangement where both of you get what you want. More he cannot give as he still needs to be able to properly keep you safe.
Hiei
👁️Hiei has mocked humans for their emotions and the strange significance that they place in relationships and love. Yet having spent so much time with people like Yusuke and especially Kuwabara has seemed to infect him with some of that idiocy too. Denial is always a first shield though as it is easier than acceptance as the fire demon refuses to acknowledge that he is feeling something for you. Like so often, he doesn't talk to anyone about this but those who are very smart and quick to pick things up like Kurama still notice that he seems to be more taciturn and brooding than he normally already is. Hiei though would never confess anything even if his life were to depend on it. He wants to ignore and to forget in hopes that it is just a fleeting stupidity that he has caught. That doesn't change the way red eyes look at you when you are around or that horrible feeling in his chest when someone else gets too close to you. All are signs of an incoming obsession yet Hiei continues to pretend like it does't exist which in hindsight has only made things so much worse for him. Perhaps things wouldn't have turned out so out of control otherwise but once it is too late, there is no turning back anymore.
👁️He won't approach you for a long time but Hiei is watching. He's an excellent stalker, a vengeful shadow that is always lurking and watching. If he cannot leave this game anymore than he will simply flip it and beat it by his own rules. Whatever ridiculous things normal men do to woo and court their beloved ones, Hiei won't comply with. No, he will instead do things his own way and you won't have any other choice besides complying with it. It's hard to miss just how possessive Hiei is and has perhaps always been even when he was still in denial about his feelings. He barely tolerates anyone besides himself around you and even companions like Yusuke and Kurama aren't immune to his anger when he believes that you are getting too comfortable around them. Feelings have never been something he had to deal with. He knows how to assassinate and extract informations via torture and violence out of someone. But love? That is uncharted territory and out of a silent fear to start being seen as weak he holds you so tightly that his grip nearly crushes you. He is extremely controlling and even a slight mishap from your side will lead to consequences.
👁️Dare to call him jealous one time and he will teach you to never do it again. Jealousy in Hiei's mind symbolises a level of attachment and emotional dependency he is still unwilling to accept. You are his but that shouldn't be something that should ever get to your head. Being his merely means that others should know to never touch you and that you should know better than to think about getting close to anyone else. If you are the overly kind type who likes to form connections that is a literal nightmare mix though as this is just the way to get yourself in trouble. The thing is that Hiei doesn't always interfere. Sometimes he just watches from the distance. If you do meet his eyes though you can see it in his gaze that you are in trouble as much as the other person is. He expects better yet if you are being overly stupid then you need to learn and not with kind words and patience but through pain and humiliation as this sticks more efficiently in his experience than anything else ever would. He mocks. He hurts. He locks you away to give you time to think about your mistakes before he returns and expects a good apology from you before he lets you out again.
👁️When it comes to the kill count alone that Hiei has the highest one. Always. He has no patience and no chill whatsoever. He doesn't extend any mercy either as he doesn't care about shit such as a second chance or a redemption. The moment someone messes up, they're gone. It's as simple as that and it is the way he has been taught life works. Differently from all others so far who would make sure to spare their darling such a sight, Hiei additionally doesn't care even if he kills someone right in front of you. He is completely desensitised to such brutality and if you end up crying he merely retaliates that you are way too shielded and soft instead of comforting you. This is his way of life and since you are now forcefully a part of it, you better start getting used to it. There are even worse things out there and if you are already trembling like this merely because he beheaded someone, you better pray to faint when things get serious. As bloody and brutal as it is, it turns out to be quite effective as other demons indeed hesitate before touching you out of fear that Hiei will hunt them down for revenge.
👁️This is kind of bound to happen eventually. Hiei doesn't know how to approach with patience and flowers. He doesn't even want to try either. He grew up under bandits who took what they wanted and that is a philosophy that he applies to you just as much. You are something that he wants so it is only the most natural thing to steal you and claim you for himself like everyone he knows has done. He isn't going to coddle you either like some others would. He doesn't want you to stay soft and spoiled as you need to know and learn at least a few things to survive on your own. You get what you need to survive and nothing more. This is the way Hiei lives his life after all as a lone wolf and he makes you a part of that. You sleep in caves or outside. You eat what you hunt down yourself or you have to hope that Hiei will have some mercy when he notices how much you struggle to forage for yourself. The luxury of a normal human life are gone as you have to adapt to his life from now on and whilst you are well protected, Hiei doesn't provide you freely with more. He knows you're human but you should be at least a bit more capable. He isn't your knight in shining armor after all.
👁️Pride for Hiei is the equivalant to the tallest mountain for a human to overcome without any assistance. It takes a lot of time to overcome before there are some small signs of him opening up a bit more and being somewhat nicer. Obviously he is never going to be a Prince Charming, not with the way he was raised and learned to be but you are going to take even small steps at this rate. A starved person is going to celebrate over even crumbs and sometimes you pity yourself for having sunk that low. His softness is still jagged around the edges but they aren't as sharp anymore. He doesn't initiate affection himself but he learns to awkwardly reciprocate when you do it carefully. His hold is still way too tight and his nails dig too tightly into your skin but that often that is the closest thing you are going to get to a hug. Still, you have to walk very carefully around Hiei. He is a huge no-nonsense person with no sense for humor and even less when it involves modern human stuff he doesn't even bother to understand to begin with. Affection has to be very carefully measured too as he isn't very clingy and still has to get used to it as he has never received it before in his life.
Yoko! Kurama
🦊Yoko Kurama is a very different matter as he is all Kurama with no good influence that came from being reincarnated as Shuichi to a human mother. As a literal thief who is leading his own group, Kurama is very much an individual who believes that if you desire something you just take it instead of waiting for it. Though so far that has only ever involved objects and not a literal person like you are. He is not turned off though. Instead Kurama is rather intrigued by this curious twist of fate and so he doesn't just steal you out of your home immediately. No, he actually observes for a little while instead. He doesn't let anyone else from his group of bandits get involved in that matter as already he views you as his fascination and therefore no one else gets to observe you the same way he does. It is not a prolonged phase of stalking though. Thieves rarely stay too long in one place after all and so soon after you are taken and forced to tag along. Most are curious when the boss brings you along but no one asks too much questions. Kurama makes it loud and clear once that you are his and not to be touched and no one wants to find out what will happen when that warning of his is being ignored.
🦊Out of the gate it is glaringly obvious that Kurama is very possessive. Sure, you aren't a glittering object but he still stole you and that makes you his now even if you may insist that you are your own person. The only reason he lets you speak like that is because he finds it rather amusing though if he should ever have enough he will have you shut up. As someone with a pinch for mind games and sadism, he does like toying even with you though. He often lets you run far away even if he has all the means necessary to capture you simply because to him it is amusing to watch you run and struggle in unfamiliar environments with dangers you may not be familiar with from the place you grew up in. Sometimes he lets you run on purpose into dangerous animals before he appears and tears everything apart. He doesn't ler harm come your way but he does enjoy how humiliated and helpless you always look after as he leans over you. Other times he lets you get dangerously close to the next village only to stop you the last second and to see how hope gets poisoned into frustration and disbelief because you thought you were actually close when you never were to begin with.
🦊He gets it. Everyone in here is a thief. It’s in their nature to snitch stuff away from others for no noble reason besides wanting it for themselves. However, from the very beginning he sets a clear limit when he brings you with him. That you are off for anyone else and that he will punish those who dare to try anything with you. That threat works for a while but as you spend more time with them due to being unable to escape from Kurama, everyone can’t help but get more curious about you. Even you try to form at least some friendships as being only with Kurama is suffocating. Perhaps you’re even hoping to gain some allies who can help you to get back home. And Kurama? He watches everything and takes it with a slice of humor. He doesn’t worry too much. He keeps tabs on everyone but doesn’t see the need to interfere unless he knows that there is a good reason to do so. When there is someone though you have gotten too attached to and vice versa, Kurama is going to remind both of you though that you are taken already. You are his and he isn’t going to have anyone doubt that claim even for a moment. Perhaps you need to be reminded who you belong to.
🦊There is all of the calculation and the strategic skills but without the kindness of Shuichi in this version of him and that makes him very cutthroat. It isn't like taking someone's life is anything unfamiliar for Kurama with the life that he has chosen for himself so he doesn't hesitate nor does he show much mercy. When someone locates them they have to be killed so that no one else will find out where they are. When someone knows too much they have to be gone. When someone harms you they have to serve as an example. When someone from his group betrays him and tries to help you they will have to be punished for they are a traitor. There are a lot of reasons for why Kurama spills blood and he never hesitates when he recognises that someone being dead is more to his advantage than letting them live on. He doesn't even protect you from the sight though he does give you a warning so if you are still looking than it is more on you than it is on him. Due to being more sadistic in this form though, he doesn't even give them a swift death. He likes to prolong it and to toy with his victims to really get a good reaction out of it before he lets his carnivorous plants devour them.
🦊Well, I have pretty much given it away already from the beginning. Thieves cannot afford to stay too long in one place at a time so Kurama steals you away shortly before his group relocates to plan for their next heist somewhere else. He has to make sure that his interest is genuine before he takes you as he would have to murder you too if he were to lose his interest after a while. So Kurama stalks to figure out if his obsession is permanent or not and only once he is sure of it does he decide to take you with him. You are never stuck for too long in one place though. Kurama is constantly on the move and so you are forced to tag along. Guards are always watching you even if Kurama isn't there himself at the moment and you aren't allowed to leave the camp and wander off alone unless Kurama is there in which case he lets you escape on purpose at times. You pick up a lot of skills over time though that you wouldn't have learned otherwise though you hate it when Kurama muses that you're becoming more like a proper thief every single day. Who knows, maybe one day you will be indeed a proper thief if you absorb this lifestyle too much. Whether that'll change things or not is unknown.
🦊You aren't necessarily harmed purposefully but Kurama does make sure to always remind you that he can be very cruel. That keeps you in line as well as all the other thieves who work for him and if stupidity can be avoided through it, then he doesn't see the need of being lenient or nice. Yomi is likely the one demon that he trusts most from his entire group so you spend a lot of time with him when Kurama has to take care of something. Generally speaking, you are often treated like a price more than a person and Kurama doesn't really care much for your protests. One large hand and nails scratching your jaw until blood seeps out is often warning enough if he starts getting annoyed and wants to shut you up. Out of pure mockery to only underline more that you are his and that he can do with you what he wants, he completely treats you like a delicate object on some days. Treasured for sure but with no authority to make any choice for yourself. Why would you? You're his and that is what matters most in your life right now. He may even let you only walk around in an outfit that reveals his bite marks decorating your body, a blatant sign of ownership.
Kuwabara Shizuru
🚬It's hard to read Shizuru as her easy-going attitude usually only makes her appear like she is bored of life half of her time. Indeed, despite having such a hothead of a younger brother she appears to be quite mellow in return. Deep down though she is rather cynical and tends to believe that the worst case scenario is more likely to happen as she doesn't trust in good things as easily as in bad ones. This view on the world makes her very self-reflective though and it also makes her very conscious of her own feelings for you. And honestly? It just kind of confirms what she has always believed anyways in the first place. Even she is being selfish right now and whilst she doesn't grow overbearing nor possessive for now, Shizuru doesn't quite know how long she can fight it and if it'll even go away again. Why bother and run away from something when it'll catch up to her eventually after all. That type of mindset causes her to cave in quicker than it has her denying and rebelling as she believes obsession is inevitable so she doesn't even bother any resistance that might only turn to shame or anger later when she eventually fails. This is just the easier and less painful way to accept things.
🚬Surprisingly enough though it is this lack of active resistance that gives her a surprising amount of control over her own feelings. Shizuru has gained time and patience by simply giving in and it allows her to work through her feelings before they explode due to denial she never even pretends to have. It allows her to watch you closely without you suspecting anything and it also gives her the capabilities to think through how she should proceed from here on out. Good things rarely happen just like this after all and if they do then there is always a catch to it. Nothing is given for free after all. Her Spiritual Awareness allows her to sense danger before it happens and it has led her from a very young age to be more cautious and to always be prepared to take the needed precautions. It is an ability like that which has her naturally be more inclined to be protective than nonchalant as she may normally appear to be. She considers you a good person in her life but being as cynical as she is, that to her means that things can always go downhill so she exercises more wariness. She is terrified to get too close to you but also too worried to leave you alone and to not be there when something happens.
🚬In such matters she isn't as bad as Kazuma would be with his darling. She's more mature than that. Truly, it doesn't bother her much when you spend your time with other people. She sees herself more as the bystander who keeps an eye out for you and on you than the one standing next to you. It may be a fantasy at times but fear to grow too close holds her back for now. She acknowledges her obsession but that doesn't mean that she has to act so close to you on it. What if something does go wrong after all and she could have prevented it but failed? So you mostly just notice her leaning against a wall a couple of feet away or hanging around you but never next to you. When you approach, she dismisses you and just tells you to return to your friends whilst she lits up a cigarette. Ironically enough her Spiritual Awareness seems to heighten unnaturally to the point where she knows when someone crushes on her as if that too is a danger she has to be aware of and has to somehow prevent from escalating. It becomes kind of harder to act all bored and nonchalant after that unexpected development. Shizuru is truly being tested here, isn't she?
🚬Usually it is her little brother Kazuma who is being the delinquent who gets in fights. She has scolded him plenty of times for it yet ironically apparently that brute force runs just in the family. Now, normally Shizuru stays out of other people's affairs and problems. With you though she learns to step up a little bit more and to take matters into her own hands which does mean that she becomes a little bit more like her younger brother. That usually gets both of you in more trouble than you were already in before but you appreciate the persistence of her attitude at least. Now, Shizuru has always been about tough love even with Kazuma and her love for you isn't just all softened up either. She expects something of you and she holds you accountable for things you should have approached with more responsibility after even if she lashed out too. You may not have a Spiritual Awareness like she has but that doesn't mean that she is all here to coddle and shield you either. Some things you will have to take responsibility for too and sometimes she forces you to grow up a bit when she deems it to be necessary. Her ability against threats is limited as she can't fight like her brother but she does what she can.
🚬Personally I don't see her abducting you in a permanent sense. All her cynical attitude aside, Shizuru may be harsh but she isn't cruel. It would also be way too much work to take care of you whilst keeping you locked up somewhere and she doesn't believe that things are ever going to sail that smoothly as to think no one would ever find out. So as someone with a grim look on reality she deems it to be an unrealistic idea that would go south sooner than later. Maybe the both of you will share an apartment eventually but even then she wouldn't isolate you from the rest of the world forever. The most tempted she is when her Spiritual Awareness acts up but then again, you could be in danger anywhere. Even your own home. So even if she were to lock you up, danger can always reach you. In such a case she usually makes sure that she gets you quickly out of the situation before her hunch turns right and something might happen to you. Then she is very stern though and since she is so rarely like this due to her bored expression, it does frighten you enough so that you listen to her and do as she tells you to do. Shizuru dreads the day you might demand answers though.
🚬A relationship with Shizuru in comparison to all other characters on here is the most normal-looking one. She's a human just like you and she is very lax. The only thing that differs her from you really is that she also knows what your eyes can't perceive. She has seen some of the creatures that her younger brother fights against and she has seen him bravely battling too. She cannot do the same things her brother is capable of doing but she still does what is in the realm of possibility to protect you through her own ways. Shizuru is most likely a very skilled manipulator because she is subtle about everything and never too forceful for you to grow overly suspicious. Her manipulation are little seeds of advice and wisdom she plants into your mind and waters once in a while to make sure that they slowly take without you noticing it too much as it is a gradual shift. Due to her high Spiritual Awareness you slowly also start to believe that she is just incredibly intuitive which only leads you down the road of trusting her words more. She doesn't admit the truth of the other world to you immediately though her younger brother spoils it to you more than once.
Shinobu Sensui
▪️Sensui is kind of tricky solely because he is not one man but seven personalities in one body, all to help the original Shinobu to deal with the trauma that he suffered on the night he witnessed 'The Feast of Human Vices. A previous view on the world that was solely black and white shattered as he came to the realisation that humans can be just as debauched as demons. Since then he has been working on a plan to wipe out humanity and the other personalities all carry the burdens that would be too much to bear for Shinobu alone. It's very likely that you don't even meet Shinobu until much later as Minoru is the orator and the one who holds the other personalities together and convinced them to join the cause. A prideful man who loves talking a little bit too much, Minoru is incredibly suave and a very good manipulator. He has to be in order to keep someone like Kazuya on a tight leash. So to him it is most likely a mere child's play to win you over as he knows what needs to be said and how he needs to act in order to win over your heart. He cannot permit other personalities to break out either as the contrast would be too jarring. Shinobu might just be the only exception.
▪️Love for a human contrasts everything that has been planned for years though. And for someone who once was only one man in one body, that would be a very delicate matter which threatens to shatter the whole foundation that has been pieced together from the broken parts of his mind. Worst of all is that it affects all personalities which causes an inner mayhem and war within one body. Kazuya demands death and so does George, though in a less violent manner. Naru is probably the one who is most likely to be struck by guilt and begs for you to be left out of their dangerous business. Hitoshi who usually only cares for animals and plants feels conflicted as well as confused when he starts caring for you equally as much. Makoto wishes to take you in and take care of you. Minoru is forced to deal with all of them and their constant arguments. Shinobu though? He is oddly silent and doesn't give an opinion even when he is asked to do just that. Instead he desires to observe for a while longer before he makes up his mind. He has yet to decide what he truly thinks of you as he still remembers clearly what sins he saw humans commit and for that doesn't trust you just yet.
▪️Jealousy would be handled very differently depending on who is out though to avoid an unnecessary outburst of fury and violence, Minoru remains mostly in control. He's possessive but not insecure which makes a huge difference in. Appearance and the way he carries himself alone is often already enough to intimidate someone and that before he opens that mouth of his. Pride is biblically known to be a sin but he makes it appear far too confident as if there are going to be no consequences for him. In a way, there really aren't too. At the same time he manages you. Frustration or ire because he constantly interferes are maintained and soothed all because whilst he does talk a lot, he knows just how to do it so that he always gets away with stuff. Personalities like Kazuya must never be allowed to be present when jealousy strikes as this part is far too volatile to work on logic and calmness. Makoto and Naru are the most mellow when it comes to jealousy. Kazuya and George are ready to put bullets between anyone's ears who tickles that itchy feeling out of them. Hitoshi remains conflicted and in denial. Shinobu, alongside with Minoru, manipulates though more politely.
▪️Not all personalities kill and I believe that just as much as every personality has a different role to carry in the great plan to erase humanity, each part also has a different role in the relationship with you. Kazuya is without a doubt the most bloodthirsty and always ready to kill yet he isn't allowed out as often. He is good for a mindless slaughter but is far too volatile and out of fear that he may end up accidentlly hurting you, he is only let out when you aren't close. George is the master of all weapons and whilst he may share that foul mouth of Kazuya, he is more efficient when it comes to murdering someone without causing unnecessary destruction and endangering you. He works more as a hitman than a savage and bloodthirsty beast. Minoru is one of the personalities prepared to kill as well. He boasts a lot during fights, he may get a tad bit cocky in the middle of it but he is the second strongest and if more powerful things endanger you he doesn't hold back. Shinobu is the strongest and he most likely only appears when someone overwhelms even Minoru as the ultimate weapon and he is polite but heartless. All of them are sadistic on different levels though.
▪️An abduction is unavoidable and it is pretty much planned the moment all personalities vote unanimously to spare you. Itsuki is the only one though who knows outside of the seven personalities of his as Minoru plans to keep you a secret from others as you are going to be a weakness that could potentially be explored by those who plan to stand against their vision. The abduction in itself either falls to Minoru as he is the one you are most familiar with or to Shinobu who would be just as efficient but just a pinch more gentle with it all. In either case, Shinobu will be the one to explain things to you after you have regained consciousness. After all things are going to be very different for you now and you need to know what you need to prepare yourself for now that you are stuck. There are seven people you have to deal with after all and some are going to be much more difficult than others. Though the time each one of them gets is most likely not going to be quite equal for obvious reasons. Shinobu has mentally already shattered and the last thing he would want is for you to fracture in the same way that he did. You may not be strong enough to build yourself up again unlike him.
▪️Each one takes indeed a very different role in the relationship. Naru is the only female and the most sensitive. She handles you best when you get upset or emotional as she understands feelings best. Makoto is the physical caretaker. He cooks, he cleans, he helps you with physical tasks you require help with and together with Naru he is the most gentle. Hitoshi is more reluctant to emerge as he still is conflicted at times with his feelings for you but when he does appear, he usually mostly shares his love for animals and plants with you and tries to convince you that humans are the world's biggest problem. Kazuya and George mostly only appear when someone needs to be murdered. Both of them are made for fighting and not for loving and George handles that with slightly more grace than Kazuya who lashes out as he demands more time with you. Minoru remains the one you are most familiar with and the one who spends the most time with you. He explains and he also punishes you when you act out of line. Shinobu appears less than you would have expected from the original though still enough for you to count him as a more frequent face. He's a mixture of all the personalities with none of their extremes.
Mukuro
🔸Mukuro is a very pragmatic person who may not be good but knows when and how to limit herself. She has a sensible and realistic approach to most things in her life and that may enable you to reason with her but it also makes her ruthless in many other aspects. She isn't thrilled when she catches feelings, not with the abusive past where he was sexually exploited until she ruined herself so she wouldn't be desired anymore. She isn't going to be kind either as she has lived her entire life since she was kicked out due to deforming herself as a powerful warrior. Mukuro initially simply observes and that for a very long time. She doesn't kill you but she doesn't take you yet either. Things still don't sit quite right with her due to this unexpected development and to give herself some time to come around, she settles with stalking for a longer while. As someone who isolates herself most of the time though she obviously never shares with another demon what exactly is going on within her own heart and mind. This is her problem and her responsibility to take care of and the meddling of others would only make things worse which is the last thing that she needs right now.
🔸Neither very kind nor too cruel, there are rules and limits that are still put on you the moment you end up being stuck with Mukuro. You aren't allowed to just roam free and do as you want, not when she has forcefully taken you under her wings. As I mentioned before, Mukuro sees her feelings for you and by extension the moment she has you as her responsibility and so she sees it through that nothing goes wrong. She is on a more controlling side but that may simply be because she is in a position where she may be powerful but has also powerful enemies and since you are most likely going to be weaker than her, it is her task to look out after you and protect you. She's protective in that sense but she is going to let you suffer from your own consequences that you are responsible for causing as experience is the best teacher before she steps in. She punishes you too as discipline is going to be needed though she doesn't extend a punishment for mere cruelty or sadistic pleasure. It is meant to be an effective lecture that sticks in the mind and the moment you have learned, she lets you go. Mukuro is harsh but above all she is efficient and knows how to not be heartless but to show her heart less.
🔸Jealousy surely is a strange world to use for a powerful demon as herself, wouldn't you think? Why would she have to fear that you are going to leave her for anyone else? That is not something that she would let happen in the first place. Mukuro isn't delusional of course. If she frightens you then she obviously knows that. But fear isn't something she is unfamiliar with as lots of people fear her. Yet it doesn't matter if you fear her or love her-though she would be pleased of course if you were to return her scarce affection- because you aren't going to escape her anymore. Once her feelings have blossomed beyond the point of no return, Mukuro simply accepts that she is going to claim you as her possession and that no one can do anything against it. That includes you. Her stake is always going to be there and whilst she may not openly or even privately express much affection, she is going to clarify it to every other demon that you are to remain untouched as you are part of her territory. As one of the Three Demon Kings this claim is very much enough to always have other demons scatter away from you when you walk alone as no one would want to anger Mukuro.
🔸Mukuro has murdered a lot of demons throughout her life and has devoured humans just as much. She is ruthless and efficient as she is a demon and that is simply her nature. She has some loose limits though as she isn't just a mindless monster who gives in to all hedonistic pleasures and desires. Some practiced control and restrain is just as much needed. This essentially means that she isn't going to hesitate to behead demons who go against her word but that she isn't going to cause any senseless slaughter either. She always gives one explicit warning and if someone is still not competent enough to comprehend her words then they don't deserve a second chance to begin with. She isn't going to spare you such brutal sights either as this is the Demon Realm after all and for that such things aren't anything uncommon in here. If you plan to survive this place then you better toughen up because she isn't going to dot on you. It's also very likely that Mukuro starts training you herself so that you are capable of fighting for yourself as she isn't going to fall for the trick of letting herself believe that she can always protect you. She doesn't want you completely helpless without her.
🔸Whilst you are claimed by her, you aren't going to be permanently stuck with her. Mukuro is an isolationist by nature who doesn't open up to anyone so she cannot emotionally deal with the thought of spending all of her time with you. You are most likely placed into an area closer to where she spends most of her time but you aren't going be locked up. You have the rules that she puts on you and you listen to them. If you don't, she finds out and whilst Mukuro may not instantly emerge to punish you she is going to come eventually. Intimacy is something that disturbs her and with the sexual abuse and slavery that she had to endure, it is no wonder that she flinches away when you do as much as reaching for her. Perhaps it is a sign that despite having all the power and reputation now, her past still shackles her and Mukuro is keenly aware of that herself. Why do you believe she walks around in chains after all if not to symbolise that she is still chained to her past even after so many centuries have passed? She lurks more than she is present most of the time. Always watching but rarely allowing herself to be close to you. She doesn't know how to do that.
🔸Most people don't even know that she is a woman to begin with and neither do you as you get to see her only with her bandages on and her face covered. The fact that her voice is robotic and deep doesn't help much. It takes so long before she even shows her real face to you, unfaced even if you should be disturbed by her damaged skin and it takes her even longer before you can truly touch her or offer any emotional and physical intimacy without her flinching away. After centuries of living by herself and still being haunted by what her father has done to her, there is so much unspoken trauma which Mukuro of course never reveals to you. She is more of a distant guardian than she is an actual lover and perhaps she intends for things to stay that way for a very long time. True intimacy scares her as much as she would like to deny that. That means that you have a lot of work in front of you to carefully work your way through a thick emotional armor which has been hardened over years. If you are the type who needs a deep emotional relationship you are going to die of thirst for a very long time as Mukuro rarely provides more than a few drops at a time.
Yomi
👂For someone who is also one of the Three Demon Kings, Yomi is surprisingly calm person. Perhaps this is a major result as Yomi has modeled himself greatly after his old friend and ally Kurama who has served as a great inspiration for him. True to that, Yomi likes to gather his intel and have enough information on hand to form a plan before he acts. His obsession starts simmering due to this character trait long before he lets anyone notice it. He may order some of the demons in his country to keep a closer eye on you but to not let themselves be caught by you and to not interfere or harm you. They just simply observe you and report afterwards back to him. That pattern continues for an extended amount of time until Yomi has gathered a lot of information about you and your daily life and all of that without you having noticed anything about it. Perhaps he will keep you so unaware for a little while longer. Not because he needs to make up his mind. Yomi already knows what he feels and what he wants and he definitely plans to have you as his by the end of it all. He just has to determine the way he is going to achieve his goal. Pure violence seems too brutish after all.
👂You are most likely lured in via subtle manipulation and natural intimidation due to the position and the power that he holds. Obviously he could just force you to do as he commands you to but that wouldn't feel quite as much as an accomplishment as having you submit by your own will. Patience is a gift that he has due to being one of the kings in this world. That possessive undertone of his is already present from the very beginning though and that on purpose. Just enough to let others know to not try anything with you unless they wish to ignite his wrath and enough to let you know that he is interested but respectful enough to give you your space for now. That is partially an illusion though as behind the strings Yomi pulls a lot of strings already to tie you closer to his side. He mainly wants you to believe that you are still having a choice though and that you will use that choice to stay by his side. He is quite confident that this plan of his will work. If it won't? Well, he is going to be obviously disappointed but he won't let that hold him back. He'll just resort to less prefered methods then.
👂It's interesting because with six ears to make up for his bliness, he is very much capable of hearing when someone has feelings for you or not. It makes for quite an efficient method to be able to distinguish between those who might entertain other thoughts with you and who don't. Still, even then it is very difficult to get Yomi to feel threatened. Whilst cautious with the other two kings, he isn't wary when it comes to most other demons in this world as none of them are as strong as he is. Accidents where someone is either bold or unaware and approaches you with different intentions is usually very quickly humbled when confronted with him. If he were to concern himself with everyone who does as much as looking as you, his life would be truly stressful after all but fortunately enough for him, he doesn't do that. That much confidence he gives himself and that much kindness he also gives his own subordinates. He is subtly more hostile with demons who do not belong to his side but even then he doesn't escalate a situation unless he absolutely has to. You yourself are most likely often reminded that you shouldn't forget whom you belong to. It is meant to be a reminder but sounds like a threat.
👂What Yomi values above all else isn't necessarily violence as much as it is survival. Whilst he certainly is not without his sadistic demon side that loves a good fight, he doesn't fight until he triggers his own destruction. He attacks wisely and rarely without a few good plans in the back of his mind. He doesn't go around and slaughters everyone. He does punish but not always with death. It would be too much of a stretch to imply that he is overly kind-hearted for it of course, he can and will act the part of a demon king if anyone should step over a line. As long as none of those lines are crossed though, he is not going to do anything that would be considered as too brutal. Then it is more about leaving a message behind, a reminder of what not to do the next time. Some actions he cannot forgive though and in that case a simple reminder just won’t do. You are precious and you must remain unharmed the moment he claims you as his in his mind. That is a line no demon should cross for endangering your life calls for a message written in blood that is left behind. Then he is guaranteeing your survival by ending the life of another. Then it is fair and needed.
👂I wouldn’t say that he is necessarily isolating you outright. That would be a bit too extreme at the beginning. But you are scarcely left unwatched at one point in time anymore. It is all for protection more than it is for possession, especially if you are weaker in comparison to most demons who live in this world. Conflict is everywhere after all and as long as he hasn’t fulfilled his vision of uniting this demon world, he cannot allow any risks to happen. The past that led to him being ambushed and left blinded behind has taught him that surviving is the most important goal of all and that counts for you as well. It’s precisely why he slowly cuts you off and isolates you more. Why you aren’t allowed to go anywhere without him sending someone with you to protect you and why you must always inform him before you leave. You may perhaps not understand why he is doing it all or perhaps you simply value your freedom more than your safety in which case your priorities clash with his. That is quite alright though. You may not share the same ideas as him but Yomi believes himself to know what’s best for you. Especially if you are younger than he is will he view his values as the truth.
👂Shura is technically speaking his clone but raised more like a son and maybe he develops a small crush on you too. Yomi wouldn’t even be surprised if it were to happen as he might just view it as a sign that he has a special connection to you. It is ironic that he is blind yet appears to see more than most others. He senses things, he predicts things and he notices your emotions all without his vision and that is kind of terrifying. He doesn’t carry too much regret though even if he isn’t able to know what you physically look like for he knows and understands you better than most other demons in this world anyways. Sometimes he does touch your face though to trace over your features and imagine what you might look like. From the three kings he would most likely be the most gentle lover but he also always holds all the strings. Sure, he may not always pull them but if something were to go even slightly wrong he is capable of orchestrating everything with ease. Word about you is kept contained as good as possible as he wouldn’t want the other two demon kings finding out about you. He doesn’t want you to be reduced to a target to be exploited to get to him. You must be kept safe.
