you don’t know how happy that makes me, Yakuza is my #1 favorite series ever, I think about it literally every day and the knowledge that I introduced someone to it even indirectly, and that they’re enjoying it is a type of elation I don’t get to experience often enough

Why?

toys really got influenced by Star Wars and the need for tie in media to sell toys rather than imaginative play

 the way it got heavily heavily heavily gendered in marketing, 

how when you ask people’s idea of iconic toys their idea of it is from the 80s even if the toys predated it (like Barbie and how people think She NEEDS to be blonde to be recognizable in the rat tooth superstar sculpt instead of Barbie being an everywoman who didn’t always have blonde hair or how GI Joe’s constant reboots stem from the 80s)

the collectors who grew up with 80s toys are fucking insufferable about how deep and important their fav toys are
