Yep. Which is part of the reason why their relationship took so long to develop. Legolas is not terribly off in Elven aging, it's just sort of that they are actually both that touch younger than is appropriate to be romantically involved (in the forever sense) in both their communities. Like, for the "times" The Hobbit/LotR are set in, not terribly wrong, but they are very young.

And dumb.

(I am inclined to think most teenagers are dumb because I was dumb then and so were all my friends and most people I knew. Didn't mean we were wrong, per say, just sort of stupid in our way of going about things)

(So Legolas comes home married at like, barely twenty in Elven reckoning, to a Dwarf who is barely of age to consent and Thranduil is like "I need a drink/I wish your mother was here to kill you" while some of his advisers are like, "well, actually, Your Majesty, this might be a good thing..."

I love the world building of UYSTL, so I really wanted to know more about its timeline, such as when The War of Three and the Battle of the Lake took place, things like that. :)

Oh, well, I don’t know about years, but we can put it at age equivalents:

Fíli is around twenty when he and Ori are married, and Ori is around eighteen (as far as Dwarf ages go). The Battle of the Lake takes place when Fíli is about sixteen and Ori maybe 14/15 , and the War of Three when Fíli is around nineteen and Ori about sixteen. Kíli is between the pair of them, and Gimli is just a touch younger than Ori. Dwarven aging makes it really difficult to pinpoint.

Both of them.

Their neighbors are Fíli and Ori. Fíli and Legolas might never really be friends, but Ori and Legolas get on well enough that Ori invites him over to sit and chat. They like a lot of the same books and music. This makes Gimli really happy, but has Fíli trying not to sulk.

is the adventurous eater

Legolas is a vegetarian and willing to try lots of different substitutes. But Gimli will eat anything, even gluten free, raw, vegan foods, because he knows if people are eating it, some of it must taste good.

hogs the covers at night

Legolas. He doesn’t mean to, but he tosses and turns when he sleeps and ends up with the sheets and blankets twisted around his legs.

forgets to do the dishes

Actually Gimli. He’s used to his big family and passing the chore off on another sibling, whereas Legolas is aware of his own privileged upbringing so tries to make sure Gimli never thinks he’s taking advantage.

tries to surprise their partner more often

I feel like it would break even. They’re both very affectionate and want to to make the other happy.

leaves dirty laundry on the floor

Gimli is used to having his mother and Legolas is used to having servants, so they both have to make the effort to make sure the dirty clothes hit the basket and get washed and folded, if not actually put away.

stays up til 2 AM reading

Gimli is more the late-night reader, but they both love to read.

sings in the shower

Gimli. Sometimes while they’re in together. Legolas hums and sings a lot throughout the day though,

takes the selfies

Legolas is more the selfie person, but Gimli isn’t too far behind. Their friends find them sickening.

plans date night

A date night outside of going to the pub or taking a train ride to wherever is a bit outside either of their capabilities.

What are your thoughts on non-con and dub-con?

Non-con is another word for “rape”, and I avoid fics that fetishize it. Dub-con can go many ways, depending on how it is written. Sometimes it can mean that the person has conflicted feelings about what they are getting into, or that one party is misrepresenting themselves, in which case the other person’s consent is dubious. I have to see the individual situation.

Talk about your current wips.

Umm…there’s a lot. Currently working on a little sequel to the Fíli/Ori virginity fic. That should be cute. The next chapter of Until You See The Light which will feature Thranduil a bit. Define Us Forever, that bit is finally coming along, with perhaps Nori finally showing his face and Bofur reacting to the news. (Hint: Not well) . Other random works.

I know Jeff isn’t very reliable, but I believe he said in a Q+A session that Melissa inherited the house from her mother.

LOL well that explains that, but again, I've never really actively questioned the McCall family home bc we saw it in season 1. 

As for the Stilinski, idk I really just see them in a one-story and always have.

This morning I got to work and my co-workers were sitting having a cup of coffee and the second I walked in, one of them turns to me and goes "Hugh Jackman is gay."

Before I could get out any form of that doesn't surprise me where did you hear that, one of our male co-workers GASPS and turns to her like she slapped him and says "NO!" in a horrified tone. "Wolverine?" and another male co-worker turns and goes "Wait, that's Wolverine? You can't make out with another guy and still be Wolverine."

And I straightened the fuck up and said "For your information, Wolverine did kiss another guy in the comics and continued being Wolverine just fine!"

Which, inevitably caused the reaction of "Prove it!" but I couldn't remember who the other person was, so the subject got dropped until (youdontlikeyourselfmuch, the beauty, saved my ass and sent me a link) after lunch when I could show them the image.

I came upon the girl first, and asked if she'd seen Guy#1. I told her that I'd located the picture of Wolverine kissing Hercules and was set to ruin their childhoods. Her response was "GOOD. Show it to Guy#2 too, ruin both those homophobic assholes' childhoods for thinking you can't be strong and still kiss boys."

Eventually I located Guy#1 and showed him the picture and he grabbed my phone and gaped at it and then goes "No way... I gotta look this up WHAT COMIC IS THIS FROM" and proCEEDS TO SPEND THE NEXT TEN MINUTES LOOKING UP PICTURES OF WOLVERINE KISSING GUYS.

AND WHEN GUY#3 COMES IN, THEY SHARE IN THE LOOKING OF PICTURES AND SAYING THINGS LIKE "That's why he was so mad at Cyclops! He didn't want Jean Gray at all!" and "Oh my god I found one of him and Cyclops in bed!" and "Why can't Wolverine and Cyclopes and Jean just all get together?"
